Obama Could Save His Presidency by Shrinking the Size of Government
Yahoo Voices ^ | December 20, 2013 | Mark R. Whittington

Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard has noted a strange paradox concerning the president. It seems that Obama knows perfectly well how cumbersome and inefficient big government is. However his solution to anything relies on big government.

Barnes implies, and indeed almost outright suggests, that President Obama has within his grasp a way to save the rest of his presidency and go out with a legacy that goes beyond being an enormous failure. He could devote the rest of his second term in an effort to reform government, to make it more efficient and responsive to the American people.

Actually, I think President Selfie has no idea of the impact of his “lofty solutions”. He doesn’t have any inkling that everything he wants necessitates a huge explosion of bureaucracy to implement, and neither does anyone in his “circle”. They’re all a bunch of wonks with no real-world experience; a planning committee suddenly handed actual control of things, which is now pulling levers and pressing buttons with no regard for how the machine works.

Obama has his legacy. A legacy of narcissism and incompetence.

There is no changing it.

He has been a total failure. But can we blame it all on him? The Democrats have a large hand in this mess. Republicans are not innocent either.

This Congress and this president deserve each other.

Obama claims he has shrunk the size of government. He is a liar and no decent person with a brain would believe it anyway.

I’m quite sure Obama will take this to heart…

…and immediately zero out the defense budget, NASA, Veteran’s Affairs, the National Parks, the DOT’s air traffic control system, the FDA’s drug and device approval teams, etc., etc.

Essentially, if the rattlesnake would only stop being a rattlesnake than it can save itself from the rattlesnake hunters. He is what he is. He can continue to say that he isn’t, all the while doing only the things a rattlesnake would do, and 38% of the people will believe his words rather than their lying eyes.

All part of the fundamental transformation. Some people won’t realize what’s going on until after they’ve been rounded up. Then it’ll be far too late.

Ah! I see Fred still proudly wears his "Inside-the-Beltway Blinders", and thinks that Obama wants nothing but the best for America.

The concept of Obama shrinking the Fedzilla is about the same as the Pope coming out of the closet...does not compute...

Obama believes not only in big government, he believes in total government..complete state totalitarism is his cup of tea...

The Won has no interest in “saving his presidency”.

The Won wants to destroy this country, and with it, all of Western Civilization.

I thought this was one of those semi serious/ semi satire thingies. Now I feel somewhat embarrassed for Barnes.

Why would he want to do that? Growing government in both size and power over our lives is what he and his legacy are all about. Our ever-shrinking freedoms, liberties, and privacy are all signs of success to him.

And monkeys could fly out of Hillary Clinton's butt any day now.

But I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to happen.

Or he could renounce his friendship with terrorist Bill Ayers, renounce his homo past, renounce his policy of shipping rifles to Drug Lords, renounce his hatred of Israel, renounce his love of baby genocide and renounce his hatred of Christians. Yea, that’s the ticket.

He gets everything he wants and he doesn’t have a 3rd term coming up....or does he?
