It's too bad that FR 'Moderators' demand that articles this important be posted to 'Bloggers' in order, apparently, that fewer people read it. Rather like Google's doing the evil Obama's wishes to squelch anti-administration content.

Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood will not tolerate any form of criticism as they fear the light of truth as most feral rats do. It's sad that Google and other sites have caved in to this oppression when they could be of immense help in saving our Republic.

We, who support this website, can only hope that posting edicts are relaxed in order that important articles reach the largest audience possible.

Especially since on another site with the same rules, content from FR would be put in the same category.

The government pressure is only to erase “some” content, not all of it. We know what content they want erased.

Is Google erasing ALL political content, or just that which Obama opposes?

I do not know what they are censoring in this country, but I would think it is what is harmful to their buddy Obama.

Cronyism can be enormously profitable... as long as the cronies remain useful to the lord high oligarchs, of course.

Truth is potent; it stops tyrants. No wonder they want it erased.

"It's too bad that FR 'Moderators' demand that articles this important be posted to 'Bloggers' in order, apparently, that fewer people read it. Rather like Google's doing the evil Obama's wishes to squelch anti-administration content."

Perhaps the reason for relegating articles of this type to Bloggers has more to do with making sure that the News remains News.

A quick perusal of the original story from The Register reveals that contrary to the inference of the blog post from DC Clothesline, the bulk of the offending removal requests come from Turkey and Russia, rather than the US as is inferred by the author.

While US statistics are correctly cited, please note that a large part of them are copyright infringement cases while the requests for the benefit of public officials were from the countries mentioned earlier, plus the UK.

Maybe when this type of sloppy (if not disingenuous) "reporting" is cleaned up, the alternative media blogs will earn the kind of respect that so many seem willing to give them without due diligence.

‘a pressure surge from politicians, judges, cops and the like to remove material from Google that’s critical of them’

Sounds like Anna, from the TV series ‘V’, about a year ago. She tells the news reporter that he can ask any question he wants as long is it doesn't cast the Visitors in a bad light. That's the Obama Admin. Remember Anita Dunn? (Mao is my favorite philosopher) She said the smartest thing the Dems did in the run up to the 2008 election was ‘manage the Media”. They are still doing it and the Media is marveling at the Admin’s ability to spin the Media. Bizarro World with a Pravda American Press.

If you live in China, you are not allowed to access social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter. They are just blocked, period.

The kids are smart enough to use proxy servers. There are plenty of young Chinese on Facebook.

The danger here is that any level of US government thinks it is OK to misuse its legal monopoly on the use of force to threaten Google. That is totalitarian thinking, and the issuers of such threats need to be identified by their communities and systematically removed from their offices.

If you run your own blog, own your domainname (don’t rent it from GoDaddy) and host it offshore.

Example: www.ccihosting.com/

It's too bad you fail to note that the author of this article is also co-creator of Truthstream Media - a website with such articles as Watch This! Then Try to Deny Chemtrails, Did Kim Kardashian Release an Illuminati Christmas Card? and 1960s Subliminal Video of National Anthem Hides MKULTRA Message to ‘Obey’ Government.

You're quite the PHD indeed.

It's too bad you didn't get the memo last year:

You are the Free Republic—Enhancement and Initiative Announcement

We can’t rely on the media, even the alternative media. Free Republic is announcing a new initiative that gives you a platform. We want to leverage the most powerful minds on the right to make a difference. To do this, we want to bring a new level of activism, the citizen investigator. In the spirit of 1750’s The Pennsylvania Gazette published by Ben Franklin and of Andrew Breitbart.

For the longest time, our primary focus has been on looking at what the media presents and investigating it or discussing it. We have been missing something, YOU!

Jim has created a new news category, “FReeper Editorial” (freepered) for you to post your investigative reports. We are working on getting this promoted to a sidebar and other ways to promote your work but here are the basics.

No longer will quality vanities posted in this topic be frowned upon. Free Republic needs to become about you. We are tired of waiting for the media to come around to us, it is time we take our many, many members and become an army. What was once was your vanity is now your megaphone.

To do this right, we need your help. Initially, we are trying to have this as a smooth launch, and creating the new news category is a baby step towards something big. We ask just a few things.

  1. Keep this to stories you personally uncover or are a part of. This isn’t about saying what someone else has already said.
  2. No blog pimping. This is for exclusive Free Republic articles.
  3. Think about our big battle now. Please continue to post personal thoughts on history, religion, science, or whatever isn’t happening now news, in their appropriate categories.
  4. Keep it civil. Need we say more?
  5. No “hitting it”.
  6. Talk to us. Please let us know your ideas, thoughts, and suggestions for this.
  7. Be open to the cultural change this means for the site. This is good, but it does involve change. This doesn’t mean that the Dan Rather case is a once in a decade event, but the model for a thousand similar events.
  8. It is up to you. Take part. Take Action. Have fun.

Stay tuned for more change, enhancements, and opportunities that go along with this. - Your friendly neighborhood Mod Squad with blessings of the big dog himself. We are not quite legion, but we are a bag of kittens.

Nutjob conspiracy pingable?

Oh yeah. I watched in mounting horror as google systematically and deliberately "disappeared" over half a million hits on image searches for "obama birth certificate" in mid-July 2008.

Had they not censored anything questioning obama during the 2008 campaign, perhaps they wouldn't be quite so worried about their hero imposing censorship on them today, eh?

Payback's a cast iron bitch, ain't it?

Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!

To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
