Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was suspended after making headlines this week with some controversial comments that have set off a firestorm. During his afternoon broadcast on Tuesday, Mr. Limbaugh, responding to a caller's question, opined about the color of the sky.
"Look, the daytime sky is blue. Countless books and poems have been written with references to the blue sky, and until recently, there wasn't much debate about this. Sure, there are people today who want to convince you that the sky is yellow, but all you have to do is walk outside on a sunny day, and you will see that the sky is, in fact, blue. I mean, it's obvious. Anyone telling you otherwise is lying to you."
Opposition groups were quick to respond. "These comments are hurtful and obviously untrue," said Pat Lohfers, chairperson of People United to Say the Sky is Yellow, an advocacy group working to gain widespread support for the yellow-sky concept. "Mr. Limbaugh should be ashamed, and we have urged radio stations nationwide to drop his program until he renounces those comments. We don't understand where this hate comes from, but it shouldn't be polluting our airways."
In response, Clear Channel's Premier Networks, which syndicates Limbaugh's weekday program, placed Mr. Limbaugh on leave pending an investigation into the comments, vowing to work with Limbaugh's critics to achieve a mutually agreeable resolution
Angela Nussex, who leads the Atlanta-based Georgians Advocating for Yellow Sky, suggested that Limbaugh should publicly apologize. "He clearly spoke on a topic about which he knows nothing," Nussex said, "and offering an apology on the air should be a minimal first step before he is allowed back. We'd really like to see him admit that the sky is, in fact, yellow, as we've known all along."
It is unclear what qualifications Mr. Limbaugh has to opine on this subject, and he could not be reached for comment.
I would love to hear Limbaugh comment on this whole sordid affair. I wonder if he regrets his comments.

As well he should be suspended. He has said too many hateful things in the past.
I am currently working to get a local cop suspended for giving me a ticket for going through an intersection on a red light. I tried to explain to the cop that in today’s world all things are relative, and that going on red was ever bit as normal and correct as going on green. He laughed at me and made me feel inferior and stupid. I may round up the other moral relativists around here and picket city hall if that Nazi cop is not suspended.

There are only two reasons that the sky could be yellow. The first reason is that Yellowstone Caldera has erupted. The second reason is that there would have to be an enormous presence of ‘bear-whiz’ in the sky precipitating upon all of us, which Democrats, Communists, and queers would attempt to tell you it is a good thing.

In Michigan the sky is grey. If sunshines at all, people panic, something is wrong with the color of the sky...We have 4 seasons tho, June, July, August and winter..Others say we have 2 seasons, Winter and road under construction..
