Disabled Military Retirees Betrayed by Gutless Republicans

This week the Senate voted across party lines to pass a bill that would reduce the cost of living adjustment (COLA) for military retirees including disabled retirees and survivors. The Washington Free Beacon reported that a provision in the Ryan-Murray budget agreement no longer exempts disabled retirees. The original agreement stated that “This would not affect service members who retired because of disability or injury.” After the bill passed the House, the new summary removed the exemption granted to disabled retirees and survivors. It would be too easy to accuse just one party of this chicanery for remember, this was a bipartisan effort endorsed by Mr. Obama.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala has been desperately trying to prevent the cut in COLA for military retirees by advocating the halting of entitlements and tax refunds for illegal immigrants. Sen. Sessions pointed out to his colleagues that “It’s not correct, and it should not happen.” For the Democrats, vets and spouses are easy targets, like stealing candy from a baby on Christmas morning. Instead of cutting welfare benefits and tax emptions to illegal immigrants and other entitlement abusers the GOP establishment and Democrats will gladly take the money from the vets and families. They need the money to pay for the new budget while leaving civilian employees’ and other (intentional) deadbeats’ COLAs intact.

Technical Error?

Sen Murray “I want to make absolutely sure today that they know that a provision included in this deal that mistakenly included disabled retirees and survivors for changes in the pension growth will be addressed in short order following passage of this bill.” Her only mistake was that the bill wasn’t written in cursive, so the low information voter wouldn’t be able to read it. The omission had to be deliberate.

I am one. I am simply sick and tired of these stinking RINOs. That is why I left the party. That is why I don’t give them money any more. That is why I ONLY vote in those races that I actually agree with a candidate and vote for him/her and move on. I skip the RINOs and the punks and only vote those races. I did not vote for the puke in the RINOs for president in the last race. I saw no difference in either one of the One World Government pukes so I voted for neither. If they do not fall in with what I believe or close to it, no vote. Simple as that. Dudden take me long to cast my ballot now.

From older stuff I read McCain is behind this push to gut Military healthcare, active duty will see a big jump in premiums, TRI Prime will see rates go up and higher co-pays, Tricare Life for those over 65, will see a third co-pay increase in 2014, with a big push to force Express Scripts for your meds. Trouble with that is it is ALL GENERIC, and from the cheapest manufacture or country they can get it from. Many drugs are flagged, even generics. UPS throws them on your porch for any one to steal.

What if you have to go to the ER in the middle of the night and they give your a RX, well ES is is not a store you can just go to and get it filled. And that is the direction we are being pushed. And woe be to drug sensitive patients, who have to have their RX from the exact same manufacturer. Or the name brand.

Eventually they will force us onto 0’care. Because neither TFL or Medicare truly meet 0’care regs.

Every Romney/Ryan supporter in the primaries owes me an apology. Nothing short of this will do.

Those RINO’s were caught out. They hoped nobody would notice.

Yup. It goes up every year. Doubling now every year. They know there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. We are old. We are used up and broken down. I FIRMLY BELIEVE IN MY HEART OF HEARTS THAT EVERY STINKING ONE OF THOSE PUKES IN CONGRESS want us to die. We die and they save their few bucks. If they simply CUT all that wasted money they ship around the world to puke nations and give to illegals and Obama’s muzzie buddies, we could balance the budget quickly. But, know. It is easier to cut a few dollars from old, dying people. And the nation is getting further and further from caring. I bump into more people now who say “well it was your choice to go into the military. You took the chance and got hurt. So sorry.” Did not use to hear that, even here in the south, but I do now. These pukes just want their free check. Too hell with those who got broken to pieces giving it to them.

Gutless Republicans — So true!

I’d like to see Paul Ryan lose his seat.

Here we have a Senate that wants to reward illegals by giving them citizenship and SS, and Food Stamps, they want to raise the minimum wage for fast food workers, and they want to F**k disabled veterans.

THIS is the real America. The America these Vets fought for?

NOT.

The America we need to fight for is an America with patriots in the Congress and free from liberalism, Democrats, and RINO’s

From the last paragraph

I tend to think the later, to quote Sen John McCain “We cannot have continued increases in costs and benefits forever because of our inability to fund our national security,” This will be the man who will write the bill eliminating medical benefits for retirees, spouses and VA patients.

‘...who say “well it was your choice to go into the military. You took the chance and got hurt. So sorry.”’

This is the same attitude as spitting on a Vietnam Vet soldier, just more subtle. I couldn’t believe the Republicans actually went along with this. They could have refused to sign on to this deal until it was fixed. There’s no way this money actually makes a difference in our debt. It was done with a wink and a nod by Republicans. They hate the Tea Party and conservatives. It could have been a route next election, but the Republicans are making it hard to vote for Republicans.

That is one of the links used to write the article. The Dems needed republican help to pass this bill. My Rep voted for it. Needless to say he will not be getting my vote

Kudos for the Conservatives that fought the good fight

I wish we had more primary challenges in the Republican party. If Romney had won, we would have had RomneyCare. It may have been a smoother transition, but America would be at the same place, only the Republicans would have been blamed.

And these are the same guys that won't repeal Obamacare! I hope that we can replace them, the next time they come up for reelection.

>>And these are the same guys that won’t repeal Obamacare! I hope that we can replace them, the next time they come up for reelection.

The dilemma is this: do we allow the Dems to win control of the House by only electing non-Progressives? Or do we vote for the (slightly) lesser of two evil and elect the Progressive Corporatists over the Progressive Communists?

But we can’t even start asking the question until everyone on the Right realizes that the Republican Party is Progressive at its core. Calling GOP politicians “gutless” is an indicator that people just don’t understand the depth of the problem. They aren’t gutless. They are finally free to vote for what they REALLY believe.

Obamacare is good for the Corporations because it allows them to stop adding health care to compensation packages for workers.

Offshoring job is good for the Corporations.

Amnesty is good for the Corporations.

Bailouts and fiat currency are good for the Corporations.

Progressive Republicans will not stop any of these nation-killing things.

Paul Ryan and Patty Murray are going to a VA hospital today. Ryan is going to string fishing line at ankle height in front of the entrance doors to trip the ailing Veterans. Patty Murray is there to take photos of the ailing Veterans hitting the ground. The photos will be put on a Democrat fundraising letter.
“See these Veterans hitting the cement! This one’s artificial leg fell off! Isn’t it fun! Send $10 to the Democrat Party so we can continue to try and humiliate those who volunteered their all for us!”

Good sarcasm, I've been told my family members that my 22 years was a waste of time and that I didn't deserve benefits for my service, it was a waste of money. This is now personal, I am a disabled vet.

The decision to take money from retired Veterans (you have to call it that or the Democrats will quibble about what a “cut” is) was not made on the basis of any reason to help our nation. This money was to be taken from retired Veterans and given to supporters of the Democrat party. The ONLY purpose for taking this money from retired Veterans was to buy votes for the Democrat party. Anybody who says different, including Republican politicians, is a goddamn liar.
