Will Phil Hurt Disney and Hearst Stock?

I wonder how many pissed off people will sell of their Disney and Hearst stock; with a couple hundred million Christians in this country, they may request their broker sell or divest in mutual funds holding those stocks.

I personally believe this is a watershed event in our country. I think most Americans stand behind Phil, for one major reason; we have just had enough of the crap from the never ending complainers who just never quit!

Will Phil Hurt Disney and Hearst Stock?

Ask Cracker Barrel that question.

No. The vast majority of stockholders don’t give a whit about the show. Might be nice, but don’t look for it.

” they may request their broker sell or divest in mutual funds holding those stocks. “

You’re kidding. I never even heard of this family or Cracker Barrel until this brouhaha.

I never watch A&E.

I’m sure I’m not alone.

We are boycotting A&E.

We are boycotting Disney.

I'm not sure if we patronize any Hearst entities - if so, we will boycott them as well.

America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi!

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

No.

A&E is a joint venture of Hearst, which is a $9B private company and Disney, a $42B public company. They are simply too big and have too many offsetting factors for anything as small as one TV show to affect their financial performance.

Cracker (”Quacker”) Barrel might be a different story. They’re a $2.67B public company (NASDAQ “CBRL”) and this kerfuffle could well have repercussions, depending on whether people forgive and forget or boycott their stores.

Either way, as the biggest chumps in this whole deal, you can bet some resumes are being updated as those who knee-jerked and put them in the Barrel will be having an unplanned career change.

I know I have had enough, tired of listening to the whiners.

Don’t know what we can do about it though. For some reason we have been forgotten by those in politics.

In Florida the Theme Park Business is a DD customer not a Gladd supporter. Fly over Country will make Disney pay.

Well played Phil

So total they are a $51B enterprise. Well, Phill and Duck Dynasty are a $400M enterprise. That is just under one percent. If people don’t think one percent at that level matters, they don’t know squat about finance.

Duck Commander, which isn’t part of A&E, is the big supplier of that $400 million fortune. Disney is having a record year at the box office with its movies. The theme parks have broken all attendance records. ESPN is breaking records. Everything they touch turns to gold and DD wouldn’t even be a blip on their radar screen if it went away. They have too many other ways of making money. A&E as an entity would be hurt by the loss of the show but Disney would just shrug it off and move on. Even the huge hit they took on The Lone Ranger, over $100 million dollars, didn’t stop them from having a record year. Thinking one tv show, even if it’s the biggest show on cable, will dent Disney’s bottom line is wishful thinking.

1.) Fire them all.

2.) Cook and can lots of them. Millions of dogs and cats go to bed every night without proper nutrition.

Me thinks you're really full of fecal matter trying to convince this forum's membership of that BS.

You're either livin' under a rock or a closet troll.

No. Those empires are way too big. Some people might sell off cheap out of spite, but they’ll only hurt themselves, the stock will rebound because in the end this means nothing.

Disney made over $400 million (just domestic) on Iron Man 3 this year. Plus another $268 million on Monsters University, $234 million on Oz, $200 million (and counting) on Thor, $191 million (and counting) on Frozen. DD is a drop in the bucket.
