FR Wikipedia entry

Am I the only one to notice that most of the Wikipedia entry about FR is one big hit piece? Or does it not matter because it is editable? Don't meant to be dense...just curious.

Actually, I was surprised at how much influence is attributed to FR!

A REAL hit piece would have denigrated FR’s influence.

I think I’d rather be called fat. And ugly to boot.

Thank you! Merry Christmas to you, too. I’m helping the babies write thank-you notes. “Do you want to tell Grandmama that you like the shirt?” “Uh-huh!”

I use wiki for general purpose information.

I would not expect a left leaning organization to have anything good to say about those that may disagree with their world view.

As long as you understand there is a bias in Wiki world, it can be a useful resource.

I’ll bet they call everyone fat, even Ann Coulter.

Wow, that’s quite a history, if accurate. Is any/some/none/not much/most of it true, or just leftist BS drivel? It’s well before my time here, so I have no real point of comparison.

I didn’t know they had a “Free Republic” entry, so I went there and looked. It’s at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Republic if anyone is interested.

Anyway ... it looked interesting and I didn’t see too much that was wrong with it and found out some other interesting details.

In general, I don’t think anyone should find any real big issue with the article.

As far as the names and dates and items being described, it seems to be fairly accurate. I don’t see any major problems with it.

What is it, in particular, that needs fixing in that article? I read it and it seemed to be generally right on. Perhaps you have seen a detail or two that is wrong. If so, then I would like to know what that is.

AND THEN - it should be easy enough to document the mistaken info, and actually correct it yourself, on the Wikipedia entry. All you would need is the supporting documentation to correct it.

There is a BIAS from every single source you choose to use. The key is not to find out if there is a bias (because the answer is yes for EVERY SOURCE). The key is to find out “WHAT” the bias is.

The article was fairly “right on” I thought. And it seemed to be accurate for dates and issues that happened.

True

There is a bias (even historical records) and as you say, it is important to know the bias and adjust for it.

No, but you might want to check vikingkitties.blogspot.com.
