Irony, Thy Name is Barry Sotero (and Other Ironies of Algore, Life)

Posted on 01/02/2014 5:18:21 AM PST by lbryce

Oh! and BTW. Is that not the most arrogant,
smug, pompous looking face you ever wanted
to slap silly? (Covering Your Back Just in
Case The NSA is Snopping Around.)

Oh, and speaking of Algore, let me introduce someone who had he survived would have been the biggest supporter of Algore's running joke on Global Warming,
someone who had his very own Enviro"Mental" Planet Earth Catastrophe Scenario of Destruction but never knew how to monetize it, having popularized, prostelyized
a similar sounding catchy scheme in which to inject the fear of the End of Days as his very own pet Destructo-Earth meme of his day, "Nuclear Winter".

Please note how Carl Sagan and Algore employ diametricaly opposite approaches on what is their preferred Destructo-Earth Enviro "Mental" theme of choice, the dark,
sunless icy scenario of Nuclear Winter where you freeze to death vs the hot, humid nightmare of a melting planet amidst Global Warming.

Well, between AlGore and Carl Sagan, it might have been difficult assessing whom of the two are the bigger hypocrites.
But, fortunately for us, we get to find out that Carl Sagan, may he rest in piece, was certainly "balls" ahead in his gravitas
as unassailable a hypocrite you'll ever find. You see, I happen to come across this image of the moon landing a bit earlier
with the words of Carl Sagan inscribed on the image bemoaning the irony of the plaque attached to the lunar module
with the inscription by President Nixon that "We Came In Peace For All Mankind" yet at the same time excoriates
the President for the utter irony for dropping 7.5 Megatons on small nations in Southeast Asia.

Now, the hypocrisy, irony is almost too much too bear reading Sagan's comments about the megatonnage of bombs dropped on Southeast Asia juxtaposed
alongside the first manned landing on the moon. That's because Carl Sagan, someone I greatly admired for his unqualified enthusiasm as good will ambassador
to the furthest reaches of space, had his own very ironic connection between huge explosives and the moon, circumstances of which that boggle the mind.

You see Carl Sagan was part of the team known as Project A119, a top-secret plan developed in 1958 by the United States Air Force to detonate a nuclear
bomb on the Moon. Carl Sagan,of all people, was part of a team responsible for predicting the effects of a nuclear explosion in low gravity and in evaluating
the scientific value of the project. The project was cancelled but the very idea that Carl Sagan was part of the team to dertonate a nuclear weapon on the moon,
is a very sad episode in the man's life and certainly the last person to pontificate about nuclear winter or bombs from out of the sky.

As detailed below, and please check the link out to establish the veracity of this incredible ironic twist of fate, excerpted from Wikipedia, Carl Sagan, thy name is irony.

Project A119 was a top-secret plan developed in 1958 by the United States Air Force to detonate a nuclear bomb on the Moon, and Carl Sagan was part of a team responsible for predicting the effects of a nuclear explosion in low gravity and in evaluating the scientific value of the project.

wikipedia.org Project A119 Project A119, also known as "A Study of Lunar Research Flights", was a top-secret plan developed in 1958 by the United States Air Force. The aim of the project was to detonate a nuclear bomb on the Moon which would help in answering some of the mysteries in planetary astronomy and astrogeology, and had the explosive device not entered into a lunar crater, the flash of explosive light would have been faintly visible to people on earth with their naked eye, a show of force resulting in a possible boosting of domestic morale in the capabilities of the United States, a boost that was needed after the Soviet Union took an early lead in the Space Race and who were also working on a similar project.

Neither the Soviet nor the US Project A119 were ever carried out, being cancelled primarily out of a fear of a negative public reaction, with the potential militarization of space that it would also have signified, and because a moon landing would undoubtedly be a more popular achievement in the eyes of the American and international public alike.

The existence of the US project was revealed in 2000 by a former executive at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Leonard Reiffel, who led the project in 1958. A young Carl Sagan was part of the team responsible for predicting the effects of a nuclear explosion in low gravity and in evaluating the scientific value of the project. The project documents remained secret for nearly 45 years, and despite Reiffel's revelations, the United States government has never officially recognized its involvement in the study.

The first one is not funny or clever. I would be very pleased if a black conservative became president, and would not think it was appropriate for Dems to joke about a black Republican in the WHITE House.

- Oblowma and the rest of the “Progressive” commie democrats will fight tooth and nail to prevent an honest competent Conservative black candidate from ever becoming the President of the USA

- Great men like Col. Allen West can manage to get up before 10am and would never spend their days playing golf or basketball

They tried tried to keep one of the Supreme Court, too. But the day may come.

The first pic is still tacky. If I were a Black conservative (or a Black potential conservative) coming to FR for the first time, this would not make me feel like returning.
