No matter how hard the Democrats wish it weren't so, Christie is finished He won't get the GOP nod

The most important aspect of Chris Christie’s Traffic-Gate scandal is that a human life may have been lost because power hungry lowlifes played New Jersey thug politics. This is disgusting and heartbreaking.

Nevertheless, this scandal, as everything else that happens is being reported and viewed only in terms of the politics of its nature. Because of this fact Christie’s White House dream is over. For the Democrats, this scandal is a serious blow. They had so hoped that Christie would be the Republicans nominee in 2016, but alas that is over now.

In a reflexive response The Atlantic’s David Graham is reassuring everyone who will listen that “rumors of Chris Christie’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.” Really? How interesting. The Atlantic is wrong…...

The scandal is real. It includes the death of an innocent victim. Christie’s scandal takes place immediately adjacent to New York City the media capitol of the world.

Reporters don’t have to get out a map and a GPS to find a place to interview “victims,” even these lazy lumps can get this job done. People in Fort Lee don’t like Republicans to begin with.

There is a strong hatred of Christie among elected Democrats in New Jersey (please don’t be fooled the number who endorsed him – they did it out of fear) they will therefore not let this go.

Christie’s presidential fund raising machine is now shutdown even before it got rolling. High rolling Chamber of Commerce quislings will place their bets on different people.

Christie will get no help from grassroots Republicans and support from people like John Boehner will only underline why Christie is not acceptable to Republican rank and file.

The media desperately wants to latch onto anything they can talk about besides Barack Obama’s real scandals.

although he is handling it so much better than Obama has handled the IRS and Benghazi scandals, I predict the Left is gonna get off of this one pretty quickly.

Newt very nearly captured the nomination despite his scandals.

Howie Carr’s column calls the scandal “The Fat and the Furious”.

He needs to go. I really liked what he was trying to do do initially, but he has since sold out to the Democrats.

The bridge trick is so petty, mean spirited and vindictive it's hard to even believe anyone would think to do it.

It also punishes innocent citizens instead of the politicians and as such shows such bad judgment and lack of appropriate temperament that it disqualifies Christy for higher office

No way he did not know what was going on

Totally different. Newt was about the fourth choice of Conservatives. Newt was never realistically anyone’s first or second choice, he was the next best alternative. Christie is different. He has no support among the Conservative wing and therefore no base. He is now damaged goods to the GOP-e, and the GOP-e types run, shrieking away from risk.

Christie is dead. Let’s just hope this doesn’t mean the engineered construction of JEB by the GOP-e.

Christie was done in my eyes when he gave hugs and kisses to Obama, refused to endorse Romney, and gave illegal aliens in state tuition..do I think that Christie was involved in this “Bridgegate” I really dont think so, but it doesnt matter, Christie is learning a valuable lesson about liberals, when you sleep with liberals, your gonna get an STD

Nope. Ted Cruz just moved up one notch. Cruz/Carson 2016! (vs. Hillary/Moochelle.. LOL)

You can bet your bottom dollar that Moochelle had a strategy session regarding her bid to stay in the White House past 2016.

From your keyboard to God’s ears. It is entirely possible that Christie’s kissyface photo op with BO in the days before the 2012 election ensured us of another four years under his dictatorship.

He was never going to be nominated in 2016.

He is not next in line.

Next in line are one of these four guys, Santorum, Romney, Ryan, and Bush.

Sorry, but Cruz and Carson are not next either for 2016.

Now if they run and do well, that might make the next for 2020,

Yep, Rick Santorum was the runner-up, not Newt. Newt managed to carry only his home state of Georgia and next door South Carolina. Santorum won Tennessee and Alabama, two of the four other states in Newt's backyard.

By the "whose turn" pattern, it would be Rick Santorum who would be entitled to the 2016 nomination.
