The "peace process," Israel and official antisemitic policies.

With increased terrorist attacks from Gaza and elsewhere, Israel has more than enough problems without European and American policies based on antisemitism and fear of Islamist rage.

Israeli settlements

Here's a link to an excellent article by Anne in Israel on Europe's hypocritical expressions of concern about Israeli settlements. She also posted one about UNESCO having caved in to Arab objections over a scheduled art exhibit depicting the historic ties of Jews with Israeli. Both are well worth reading.

Why is Israel singled out for disparagement? Victor Davis Hanson wrote an article titled The Israel Double Standard, published at National Review Online on January 16th.  Also well worth reading, it looks first at "hip" culture and the antisemitism that accompanies it. The article then turns to the Obama - Kerry piece peace process, which demands that Israel give the Palestinian Authority the pieces of Israel they demand, while simultaneously diminishing Israel's power to defend whatever may be left of her nation. As to the latter, he observes,

Secretary of State John Kerry seems to be camped out in Israel these days. The Obama administration hopes to pressure Israeli leaders to offer concessions that will lead to an elusive Middle East peace. Yet even if Israel gave this administration what it wanted, how would the United States guarantee reciprocal commitments from the notoriously corrupt Palestinian Authority, which has no democratic legitimacy among those in the West Bank? Terrorist-affiliated Hamas wants no part of any such settlement.

This satirical video by Andrew Klavan, not included in the article by VDH, does a pretty good job of explaining the "peace process" and recommending an alternative, a One State Solution.

Back to the article by VDH,

It is hardly anti-Semitic to focus on problems between Israel and the Palestinians, or even to pressure the Israelis. But it becomes so when problems elsewhere are simply ignored and Israel alone is singled out to be chastised. [Emphasis added.]

Is the U.N. focused on the 13 million Germans who were ethnically cleansed from Eastern Europe about the same time that thousands of Palestinians left what became Israel? Would the American Studies Association boycott Chinese universities over the absorption of Tibet?

Is the world really troubled about divided capitals like Jerusalem? If so, why not an international conference on the Turkish occupation of a divided Nicosia?

Can Kerry not use shuttle diplomacy to settle who owns all those disputed rocky islands that have led China and Japan to the brink of war?

Nazis and racists used to spearhead Jewish hatred using ancient crackpot defamations that date back to the Jewish diaspora into Europe after the Roman destruction of Judea. But lately, anti-Semitism has become more a left-wing pathology. It is driven by the cheap multicultural trashing of the West. Jewish people here and abroad have become convenient targets for those angry with supposedly undeserved Western success and privilege. [Emphasis added.]

Aside from the old envy, and racial and religious hatred, I think cowardice explains the new selective anti-Semitism. Kanye West would not dare slander radical Muslims, given the violence and threats against European cartoonists and filmmakers who have dared to create work perceived as insulting to Islam. The American Studies Association would not call for a boycott of Russia despite its endemic persecution of gays. After all, Russian president Vladimir Putin is as unpredictable as Israeli politicians are forbearing. [Emphasis added.]

Kerry is not rushing into Damascus to stop the bloodletting that has claimed far more lives than all the Palestinians lost in 70 years of conflict with Israel. Syrian president Bashar Assad, Shiite terrorists, and al-Qaeda would not listen politely to Kerry’s pontificating sermons. [Emphasis added.]

The sort of anti-Semitism we see from buffoons like Dieudonné M’bala M’bala is appalling, but the double standard to which Israel is held in matters of foreign policy by those who should know better is in many ways even more galling. [Emphasis added.]

Antisemitism appears to be one basis for American and some European foreign policies vis a vis Israel and those who have sworn to eliminate her. Might such foreign policies be based on a mix of antisemitism and something more? Fear that without foreign policies stacked against the only reasonably free and democratic nation in the Middle East our relations with Islamic nations would decline, despite the massive efforts of President Obama and His administration to make them love us to death?

Islam is peaceful

Might fear of being labeled Islamophobic be a related element?

Don't worry only about Israel. She will survive with or without American "help" in her domestic affairs. She will probably be positioned to survive more permanently and otherwise better without it. Also worry -- and also try to do something about --the growth of Islamic power in America, the U.K. and Europe. Or not, as you please.

A piece I wrote this morning:

If it’s Not About the Jews... - ©2014 by Trevor Patrick

The keffiyeh-wearing activists all say:
that Anti-Zionism is not Anti-Semitism,
and that antipathy towards Israel,
is not REALLY about the Jews...

It’s about the ‘Illegitimate, Apartheid State’,
that ‘occupies’ the entirety of Palestine,
and that ancient hatreds and blood-libels,
aren’t the things that are shaping their views.

They say that their overarching care,
is for people living as prisoners in their own, stolen homeland,
and in ensuring that ‘silenced’ voices
are finally, at long last heard-

but the mounting inconsistencies in their message,
in talk as well as in deed,
are making some folks realise,
that their actions belie their words.

Because if it’s not about the Jews,
why is Palestine such a cause-celebre,
when there’s dozens of OTHER nations,
whose rightful citizens live as slaves?

And why then is Israel called an ‘illegitimate’ entity,
even though it was recognised by the UN,
and the vast majority of the world’s nations:
most of them in 1948?

And if it’s not about the Jews,
why do the activists insist on referring
to Jerusalem as ‘Al Quds’,
rather than using its proper, 5,000 year-old historical name?

If it’s not about the Jews,
and it’s all about the oppressed Palestinians,
what about the ones living in camps in neighbouring nations:
generations born on foreign soil,
but never allowed basic rights, citizenship,
or much less, a sense of place?

If it’s not about the Jews,
why is there a double standard for the Israelis,
where protecting their safety
is called an act of genocide?

But every attack by Palestinians,
that succeeds in killing Israelis,
no matter what the context,
is ALWAYS justified?

Because if it was truly not about the Jews,
the activists would see the real truth,
that the BIGGEST victimisation of the Palestinians
is not from Israel-

but rather from their own fanatical leadership,
who don’t want peace, but want every Jew dead,
and from all the other Arab nations
that use them as bargaining chips and pawns.

And if it’s not about the Jews,
then maybe you should ask yourself:
can you stare in the mirror, and look yourself in the eyes-
when wherever you happen to live,
you’re standing on land
that often YOUR ancestors
were the ones that seized and occupied?

And if it’s not about the Jews,
would you live by your own standards,
and say that when the bus you’re riding on is blown up,
you deserved to die-

that you have no intrinsic right to protect yourself,
in the land you’ve known from birth,
because your very citizenship
is based upon a lie?

If it’s not about the Jews,
why then is Israel hated more
than any other so-called ‘occupying power’,
on the face of the Earth?

For example, no one’s given a shit since 1974,
about occupied Northern Cyprus:
A so-called ‘country’ that is recognised
by no one, but the occupying Turks.

And it’s ALSO no longer trendy
unless you’re Richard Gere,
to talk about China’s continuing occupation
and cultural despoliation of Tibet;

because, after all, it wasn’t dirty Jew-Gold,
that financed the forced ‘liberation’ of Lhasa,
and the Tibetans don’t strap suicide bombs to their children,
or murder Chinese families in their beds.

But the Chinese occupiers
have single-handedly wiped-out
the centuries-old tradition of the Panchen Lama,
and will do the same to the Dalai Lama,
on the day he finally drops dead.

And if it’s not about the Jews,
why am I supposed to boycott, divest and sanction against Soda-Stream,
but I’m crazy if I do the same against other companies,
whose nations have demonstrably occupied foreign territory,
and treat the people they’ve oppressed far worse yet?

Likewise, every African horror story,
that captures the public attention
for all of five minutes,
but then disappears like smoke,
as all other stories about oppressed brown people
so invariably do...

But Palestine has dominated the discourse,
and WILL continue to do so until Israel is destroyed,
because the plain and simple truth
is that it’s ALWAYS been about the Jews.

There are only three things which have forced anti-Semitism or Islamo- Nazism to recede ...
1. God’s love and protection, when the world is so blessed...
2. the intervention/action of Christians/other people of good will, when the world is so blessed.... and
3. when Jews stand up for, defend, protect themselves.. with whatever help may be available.

Jews that suffer from JSS (Jewish Suicide Syndrome) will live today by appeasement -but surely they are all put to death tomorrow. Because, their behavior is a red-flag signal of weakness, and there’s nothing like the red-flag of weakness to attract, stimulate further attacks by Islamo-Nazis, Obammy/Kerries, and every other Satanic scourge on Rock Three.

More and more I see nations and people who support Islamic Terrorism and attack Israel are being referred to as “Anti-Semite”

Thank God. Good to see folks calling it was it is

The same Europeans who said nothing when Jews were slaughtered 70-75 years ago are now again pushing the agenda
