What is wrong with this picture ?
Group A :
Group B :
Group A : They are the true sons and daughters of America , they serve us in the United States Armed Forces . They risk their lives and limbs , defending us and our freedoms at home , and they defend the weak and the defenseless in dangerous places all across the world . They are paid little and often suffer greatly for their service . Some never come home , their final resting place ; a green field full of white crosses . We pay them very little compared to what they do for us , and lately politicians in Washington have thought it is a good idea to cut their veterans benefits and coverages , which our nation has promised them when they volunteered .
Group B : These are the highly overpaid , utterly spoiled children that the entertainment media industry has propelled into international fame and notoriety . Evolving from sweet little kids into hedonistic nasty little monsters of decadence ,setting the worst of role models for the impressionable teen and pre-teen youth . Their every move and drama is carried by the media . They live in mansions and drive the most expensive of cars , even when they are not old enough to vote or legally drink . When they err , law enforcement winks , accepts their bail fines and lets them go on their merry way . If criticized they loudly claim their rights to ‘freedom of expression’ . In return we get questionable and often explicit ‘musical performances ‘ or sleazy videos .
What is wrong with this picture? What kind of people are we when we celebrate sleaze and ignore honor and valor ? When was the last time returning young warriors were frantically cheered or mobbed by avid paparazzi ? How can we shower vast untold fortunes upon the Group B types , while leaving the Group A heroes to face hard challenges financially , when they are in the Service and when they get out ? Are we not casting our most precious pearls to swine ? I say we are . …… This has got to STOP ! No more wealth showered upon the undeserving , while our hard working warriors suffer . It’s insane . Pay our heroes WELL and treat them with the celebration and honor they deserve .Keep their hard earned benefits as veterans in tact and untouchable . They have earned them , and we owe them at least that much . As for Group B , treat them for what they are ; entertainers , not heroes . Serving themselves , not the nation .
