A former high-ranking San Francisco government employee convicted of felony possession of child pornography will continue to receive his government pension because, according to city regulations, evidence of moral turpitude is required to revoke a pension yet viewing violent kiddie porn does not qualify as moral turpitude.
As reported here in the Tatler, Larry Brinkin, a prominent San Francisco Human Rights Commissioner and nationally known gay rights advocate, was arrested in 2012 for possessing and possibly distributing videos and images of babies being raped by adult men. Because of Brinkins iconic stature in the community as the person who pioneered domestic partnership laws nationwide, supporters at the time accused the police of framing him with false charges. But the evidence was so overwhelming that, after 18 months of legal wrangling, on Tuesday, January 21, Brinkin pled guilty to felony possession of child pornography, with various other more serious charges dropped as part of the plea bargain. He will serve just six months in jail and thereafter have to register as a sex offender.
But the scandal didnt end there. A recent law defining which type of actions count as moral turpitude required to nullify municipal pension benefits does not include sex crimes involving children....

I am a Conservative and a Republican and a native of San Francisco. I've voted GOP since 1975, when I married a Republican.
Even my Democrat friends are conservative because they are now OLDER, close to 70, and see the world differently than they did 50 years ago.
Life SHOULD change people for the better, the maturing process.
Unfortunately, that must be a small group of people, because the change in the city in 4 decades has gone from bad to execrable on the left-wing ideological scale. The hilarity that they themselves (SF and environs) have become so rigid and reactionary against any dissenting thought that passes for center-right is the premier example of their hypocrisy. No matter the age, it’s like permanent juvenile fantasy-world stuff.
In the ‘60s/’70s/’80s, it could simply be passed off as it being “just their way”, since the rest of the nation as a whole wasn’t harmed by it. Today, that rotted mindset has swept like a cancer, not just falling California by the ‘90s, but in enough states to constitute a majority in our national & cultural affairs and the Presidency. It is terrifying to the rest of us that truly understand the consequences and end result of such insanity, and there simply is no other word to describe it (perhaps Satanic, and that I believe, is also a strong aspect, with the rejection of Judeo-Christian norms of morality, ethics, et al).
Another example of what has become of the decaying abscess extracted from the diseased whore known as America.
The “Greatest” Generation and their bastard offspring need to be punished.
Morality is an oxymoron in SF.
I don’t think anyone should be getting pensions. Everyone should move to a 401K style system so you are no longer a burden on taxpayers after you stop working.
Social Security should be setup in the same way as 401K. Nobody can take it away because it is a real account with your name on it.
If they’re still democrats, they ain’t conservative.
Did you read the disgusting details?
Larry Brinkin doesn’t much care for colored folk. I wonder if Jesse Jackson and co will do something useful for once, naaaaaah.
As for Frisco, I wish the sea levels would rise like Algore says they’re s’pposed to. A once proud city is now an infected piercing on Lady Liberty’s taint.
SF didn’t do much for me. The waterfront was ok, Alcatraz was fun. But one thing that struck me were the herds of bums sleeping on the sidewalks - 10+ of them.
The place was like Cambridge on steroids and I avoid Cambridge pretty much at all costs (and its right next to where I live).
Thanks for that clarification. Makes sense, though I’d be happier if the “in connection” clause didn’t exist. Scumbag indeed.
Boy babies, I'll bet.
Does that include the queers, who come for the "ambiance"?
I am speculating here, but it seems that one place these monsters might be getting access to the babies is through gay adoption. Perhaps gay pedophiles are abusing the babies, or they are sharing the babies with other gay pedophiles. I'll say one for Vladimir Putin - at least he's civilized enough to know how dirty the pedophiles are and the lengths they will go through to get access to these helpless children.
So, you believe that there are no conservative democrats?
I guess it would follow that you don't believe there are any liberal republicans. Just curious.
The odd thing about it is that with all the drilling to be TOLERANT, the state HAS become tolerant--so much so that MANY homosexuals have moved out of the San Francisco Bay Area and have scattered throughout the state. Many of THEM don't care to be in the Bay Area with the fog, high real estate prices, fog, windy cold SUMMERS and fog.
I have friends and family throughout the state and they inform me (not happily, I might add) that the "gay community" has spread throughout the ENTIRE state, even up north in the more conservative parts.
The infamous Castro District in San Francisco is FILLED with yuppies, actual straight male/female couples pushing baby carriages (Yes, I checked). I was away overseas for five years and was AMAZED to see all the straight white yuppies filling the once-all-homosexual area. The gays moved out because they COULD and found welcome mats all over the state.
Go figure. It really is all about money and jobs. California, Silicon Valley in the Bay Area, still has a ton of jobs for folks. We even get a ton of INDIANS (East) now flocking into the area because of all the computer jobs.
If I ever have computer problems and get on the phone to get help--it's usually an Indian who helps me. Some are local and some ARE from India.
Any supposed conservative that would still be a member of that party of extreme liberalism and socialism has the political IQ of a grapefruit. Makes as much sense as a Jew voting for the Nazis. Is a conservative who votes for communists still a conservative? That's a philosophical question I suppose, I would say NO. Just like all the Catholic democrats who say they are "personally pro-life but.." are NOT pro-life in any way that matters. If it quacks like a duck then it's a duck. Conversely if your "democrat friends" don't actually vote for their party anymore then I would be loathe to actually call them democrats, that would be silly. So, no, I don't believe in "conservative democrats", they've gone the way of the dodo.
Many liberals get less liberal as they age, but that doesn't make them political conservatives. Anyone who would vote for Obama, Moonbeam Brown, ect ect is not a conservative.
I guess it would follow that you don't believe there are any liberal republicans.
You need to improve your guessing ability then. Liberal Republicanism is alive and well. Conservative democratism is dead and buried. Democrat officials in conservative areas who claim to be conservative are almost universally liars, it's shame that so many people are so stupid as to fall for them. The era of the parties not being based 100% on ideology, is over.
“Makes as much sense as a Jew voting for the Nazis.”
Shocking, but lot of them did.
“Just like all the Catholic democrats who say they are “personally pro-life but..”
Socialist “Conservatives” - the worst. Like the phonies in this state that go to church but voted for Uncle Ted every six years. Hypocrites.
“Many liberals get less liberal as they age...”
Unfortunately, many “Conservatives” get more liberal as they age.
“The era of the parties not being based 100% on ideology, is over.”
There are no “Conservative Democrats” at the federal level anymore. What the liberal media terms that to be borders on ludicrous, they’ll call ex-Sen. Joe Lieberman one, but his voting record was 99% leftist. The most “Conservative” Democrat member in Congress is North Carolina Rep. Mike McIntyre, but he is not a “Conservative.” His voting record is about 40% or so leftist. If he were a Republican, that would be considered nearly a liberal (and definitely a RINO). He retires this year and what will likely pass for most “Conservative” Democrat will be 50-60 or even 70% left-wing.
Up until the 1970s, there were still a number of Democrats who were actual Conservatives in Congress (even by Republican standards). You had some, like the late Dr. Larry McDonald of Georgia, who would make John Boehner look like Nancy Pelosi. Unfortunately, with the “Watergate Election”, left-wingers and freshmen members started issuing ultimatums to many of the old-timers with right-of-center records and threatened to strip them of their chairmanships if they didn’t “get with it”, and many either chose to retire or move left in order to keep power.
The last of the actual 80-90% Conservative voting Democrats were either retired, voted out, or switched parties. About the last one in the House was Texan Ralph Hall, who became a Republican (and is now the oldest member of Congress, and oldest serving member of the House in history). It’s virtually impossible for a right-leaning Democrat to even win a nomination, let alone a general election. My state of Tennessee put up one for Senator (won with a plurality, no runoff), but the Democrats completely disavowed him as a candidate when they couldn’t strip him of the nomination.
Conversely, the Republican Party membership has ideological liberals still in federal office (although no 100%ers as they did even into the early 1980s), but you have had even 90% left-wingers such as Sen. Lincoln Chafee of RI, who was defeated in 2006 and switched parties as Governor last year to Democrat, where he has moved so far to the left that even regular leftist RI Democrats were to his right (he’s also the most unpopular Governor in the nation and chose not to run again for a 2nd term this year).
Very interesting. Thanks for your input.
CM appears to stir the pot so to speak...and when replied to with serious questions and rebuttal's...goes mute.
I've seen this MO...before.
As I see that you DID in fact respond...to them.
I guess it's just hit or miss.......
