Sexual revolution leaving American women plagued by anxiety disorders
Examiner ^ | Jan, 24, 2013 | Martha

In spite of their advances in education and the workforce anxiety disorders are replacing happiness for American women. Sexual liberation was supposed to bring equality for females that expected fulfillment with the freedom to pursue lust without expecting committed relationships.

“Maybe after 50 years they’re understanding that the sexual revolution basically liberated men even more to be able to use and abuse women to a greater degree, not be responsible for it (thanks to contraception and abortion) and, further heightened by the continued break down of families and self respect of, and for, members therein. So much for liberation and equality. Suckers.”

Kinda sounds like an entire CHAPTER out of the Commie Handbook, doesn’t it? I can think of at least 6 line items of The Communist Manifesto that apply to my ‘liberation.’

Um...No, Thanks!

The sexual repression theory is a lie.

Marxists and other sociopaths use it as a tool, knowing how effective it is to dismantle the family.

The truth is: sex is private. Not repressed. Just private.

No monogamous married couple needs to hide the fact that they have a private sexual life.

Sex outside of marriage, in whatever form, inclines it participants to want to hide it. Due to its inherent immoral nature.

The more a culture promotes nontraditional extramarital sex, the more it progresses toward destruction.

Society now has allowed women to no longer be in charge of making men live up to a higher moral standard and both now wallow in the slop. Sad. Very sad.

Your posts is wrong on so many levels

The female of our species does the choosing, men react.

If women chose men with "a higher moral standard" then men will have "a higher moral standard". If women go for men with a low moral standard, then men are going to have a low moral standard.

Or more simply put men are dogs, because that's what women go for

It's that simple.

These women in their 20's and early 30's whore around with all sorts of players & thugs, while ignoring the "nice" stable guys. The nice stable guys end up marrying nice Asian women, while the women end up in their late 30's or 40s either childless or with multiple rotten kids by multiple rotten dads/race. Not surprising so many are "plagued by anxiety disorders"

It's so sad, what has become of Western Civilization

Very few psychologists, sociologists or psychiatrists have the insight to understand how leftist ideas about sexuality will destroy our culture.

Leaders of marxism understand it.

Hollywood producers, politicians and run of the mill philosophical gurus almost have the ability to understand it, but they don’t care.

Tragically, even many of those who think they oppose leftism are so captivated in their desire to believe a lie they have in fact built their own prison.

The way to the truth is extremely simple.

Very briefly mentioned by Karl Marx and even referenced I think in Animal Farm is the idea that women will be held “in common” and available to all.

(And then there was the 19th century Mormon polygamy "ideal"...where men could amass extra wives...some 2, some 3, some 5, some a dozen--like Romney's great-grandpa -- some 27, some with 45...thereby effectively hoarding them and leaving up to half of the Mormon male population in the 1880s and early 1890s with no Mormon female to partner up with)

So, people still have a problem admitting they have sex.

Funny, a lot of guys I know will admit to more sex than they actually get.

The Commandment "Thou shalt not commit adultery (or fornication, or sodomy, or anything else related)" was given to us not to spoil our fun, but because that's the best way to live, for both individuals, society, and the next generation. Those who don't follow it are paying the price.

Let me clarify, women prior to the sexual revolution, and joining the work force in huge numbers (about the same time) were protected in society by laws and norms (i.e., intact families and their norms and the societal basic building block of marriage)that limited their “choice” of picking a lower standard male because she’d be labeled a tramp and her father/brothers would take care of any guy trying to besmudge her reputation (and theirs). So it appears that women, granted the power of choice subsequent, have somehow became stupid as the general mores fell asunder? Then I give women less credit than before. Am I still missing the mark at so many levels? What were these women’s mother’s (and father’s) teaching them while they’re being raised to accept street gutter males as companions? Pathetic.

The male side of my family have been LDS for 170 years and those who were in plural marriages numbered about 8, my branch of the family were opposed to the practice.

I think that if you polled the several thousands of my cousins they would tell you that your statistics suck.

Instead of bringing happiness women are 60% more likely than men to experience an anxiety disorder over their lifetime and taking antidepressant medication to alleviate their distress

Yes, sexual and social expectations; sexual manipulation and exploitation and lack of male commitment is all take an anxiety/depression toll upon women. That is indeed a MAJOR factor. But it's not the ONLY major factor.

For example, Mormon women are known to be more chaste pre-marriage -- and marriage is harped upon Mormon males in the Mormon culture. But what do we find in Utah, which was about 60% Mormon in the articles cited below?

Utah anxiety/depression:

Even BYU concedes the problem: Risk Factors and the Prevalence of Depression in Mormon Women

From: Two Studies Find Depression Widespread in Utah:

"Neither study was broken down by gender, but nationally women are twice as likely to be diagnosed with depressive disorders as men, experts told ABC News.Psychiatrists point to several factors that could contribute to Utah's high levels of depression: limited mental health resources, restricted access to treatment as a result of cost, poor quality of resources and a varied list of other factors, including an under funded educational system and a culture deeply rooted in the Mormon faith. 'In Mormon culture females are supposed accept a calling. They are to be constantly smiling over their family of five. They are supposed to take supper across the street to an ill neighbor and then put up with their husband when he comes home from work and smile about it the whole time. There is this sense that Mrs. Jones down street is doing the same thing, and there is this undercurrent of competition. To be a good mother and wife, women have to put on this mask of perfection. They can't show their tears, depression or agony,' Canning said. 'Obedience, conformity and maintaining a sense of harmony" are unspoken but widely recognized behaviors, which all contribute to what he calls "the Mother of Zion syndrome."

Other sources re: Utah:
* ”Utah is known nationwide for the wrong reason. 'Utah has a pharmaceutical drug problem,' said Jeffery Sweetin, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration special agent who oversees Utah...a 2007 report said had the country's highest rate of nonmedical painkiller abuse.”

Hello and Happy New Year to you! I thought maybe you had forgotten who I was so I didn’t want to bombard you with “hello’s!” in my first post.

Perhaps old lemon-sucking face was upset your men didn’t cat call to her. Remember when she was considered the best looking of that awful-looking lot?! What a pathetic victory that was for her.

qam1, Thank you for posting that so I didn’t have to. John Drake, nothing personal, but you don’t have the slightest idea what you are talking about when it comes to the moral agency of men vs. women. You talk like a feminist, or a man brainwashed by feminists. The funniest part is that you have an old Roman quote as your tagline. Look up what the ancient Greeks and Romans thought about the true nature of women.

Exactly. If women didn’t go for the “Players and Thugs”, then Players and Thugs would go away.

“The female of our species does the choosing, men react.”

It happens either way. My husband chose me, insisting my marrying him would be the best decision I ever made. He was right.

If I was gender-stereotyped by the Democrat heroine, Sandra Fluke, for being totally unable to afford $9 a month contraceptives without a federal government subsidy, I too would be having anxiety disorders.
