Thinking Of A Career Change

Posted on 01/25/2014 7:41:42 PM PST by EAGLE7

I'm thinking of switching careers where I can effectively work behind the conservative scene, such as a think tank.

I'm thinking of switching careers where I can effectively work behind the conservative scene, such as a think tank. The slow, steady march towards tyranny has motivated me to get more involved. It would have to be a paying position. I don't know where to even begin to look for such opportunities in New York City. Perhaps some of you fine folks here can give me some advice. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What’s your education level? What’s your degree in? Where’d you go to college? Grad School? What was your major? Do you have any background in politics? Worked for any campaigns? If so, what was your experience / what did you do? Were you considered a “thought leader” on a campaign?

I would get out of NYC. There is bound to be a list of conservative think tanks you could check out.

I think you just took a crap in his think tank.

I think I would like to go into the black market ammo reloading business.

That’s what I think, but I don’t have the equipment or the materials.

I have a B.A. in Political Science and have volunteered in local political campaigns as well as National campaigns. My responsibilities included grass roots work, press conferences, petitions, and going door to door campaigning for local candidates.

It’s a wonder you can ‘think’ at all. Get lost, I’m looking for serious responses, douche.

Our founders had it right. Most of them did their “service” and headed for the hills.

Well it sounds like you'll fit right in with the rest of the self righteous elitist leeches.

You have to be asked to join a think tank.
Unless you start your own.

Don’t be disheartened by the douchenozzles. There are lots of ways to make a good living fighting evil. One of the best ways is to start working for media outlets that you like. Can you believe when I was 23 years old I made $120,000.00 as a rep for a small town conservative radio station? True. So - get the right training, do what you believe in, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. ONE MORE THING: Ignore the creeps. There are a million ways to make it as a REAL American. GO!

See http://idahofreedom.net/

Wayne did just that a few years back and is now a significant player in Idaho politics.

It ain’t easy to make a living in politics. You better have damn good connections.

To be blunt, what you said in post four isn’t going to stick out. It’s a dime a dozen. If you have a good background in your current career, it could help you.

If you really want to make it big - run for office yourself, and run a good campaign. That would set you apart from the dimes a dozen

Thank you for your serious and thoughtful response. It’s encouraging to see serious conservatives on FR.

When you feel like it, I hope that you write and post a few paragraphs for us to read and to learn by. You seem to have had a very interesting and rewarding career break relatively early in life. Good for you that you recognized the brass ring opportunity for what it was and grabbed onto it. I’ll bet that kind of work is fiercely competitive, often going to somebody’s friend, son or ‘niece’.
