I too saw Lone last weekend. I read the book years ago and found it inspiring. After all the events that have occurred in the subsequent years I have to say I did not enjoy the movie. I did not enjoy it because all the effort and loss of life has been in vain.
I’ll probably see this eventually. I fought in RVN and it made me sick to see the results - all political. Over 50,000 US dead and nothing but a bunch of G()d@^&ned politicians weeping and cheering. We haven’t won a war since WWII, all because of politicians. It’s sickening and infuriating to see the waste of warriors.
My heart went out to the poor donkeys and sheep that were killed as collateral damage.
