Liberal 'trolls' post list of conservative Facebook pages marked for takeover

It seems that more and more, Facebook is becoming a battlefield of political ideologies with stories that sound like something written by Tom Clancy. Early Friday morning, Examiner.com was given a long list of approximately 80 conservative Facebook pages targeted by liberal "trolls" for infiltration and takeover by someone who only wished to be identified as "AJ," an administrator of a targeted page.

The pro-Sarah Palin "Barracuda Brigade" and the pro-Phil Robertson "I Stand with Phil" pages were among those listed as targets.

Several pro-gun pages were listed along with a Facebook page supporting the South Carolina Tea Party.

The message concluded with the phrase "Moar Gotes," an apparent reference to a technique used by Facebook liberals as "goating," where pages are infiltrated and taken over by users posting multiple pictures and memes involving goats.

On Wednesday, Examiner.com's David Thornton said in an online radio interview that liberal "trolls" have done this to a number of conservative pages.

One of the ways this happens, he said, is that a "troll" will "con" his or her way into the good graces of a page owner by posing as a conservative. This, he added, could take months. Once the person has been granted the appropriate privileges, he or she then takes over, removing all other administrators and flooding the page with various goat memes.

In the meantime, owners of conservative pages should be extremely careful about those with whom they operate. Moreover, they should carefully examine and thoroughly vet those listed as administrators.

Above all, page owners should never, ever, grant manager access to anyone they do not know extremely well.

You bring up a really good point and one I have been wondering about: In the past 8 years or so it seems every website with conservative leanings and especially newspaper comment sections have been awash in leftist agitprop, when if you go back 12 years or so, it just wasn’t so. I think that these places are being flooded purposefully with leftist postings placed by government funded operatives whose job is to modify public opinion. Is there any actual evidence of this yet out there, (did Snowden mention this type of thing) and how can we fight against it?

I'd guess there are 10 times that working for Soros-funded groups using the Alinsky playbook.

The issue is that conservatives and libertarians don't fight back against these measures. The other side is firing missiles to destroy us while the GOPe is trying to negotiate peacefully over afternoon tea and biscuits. Different realities.

We'll get a blowhard congressman (Issa) vowing to launch an investigation of abuse, another walking out of the SOTU (Stockman), but nothing gets changed as war is waged to transform this country into a totalitarian Marxist state. Rome is burning to the ground as they fiddle away.

I think you are right. I have seen a web site where they quoted outrageous things supposedly posted by Freepers. I think leftists make those outrageous posts, then go elsewhere to point out their own posts as evidence of evil Freepers.

Gosh, I don’t remember that at all. I do recall being on a thread with Mark Levine once and I did not know who he was. A true minor key climax in the symphony on my life.

I am trying to recall someone with the name of a large weed. Not Ragweed or lambs quarters, dock or something like that. We had some guy who pretended to be a Redhead, got kicked off.
