CRUZ STORMS GOP ESTABLISHMENT STRONGHOLD IN SUNSHINE STATE WITH RECORD-SETTING CROWD
Breitbart ^ | 20 Feb 2014 | MATTHEW BOYLE

Posted on 02/20/2014 4:08:42 PM PST by mandaladon

SARASOTA, Florida—The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) just held its winter meeting here, and the wealthy beachfront communities that dot the coast are typically considered one of the beating hearts of the Establishment GOP's donor community. Tonight, though, it's Cruz country. An event originally scheduled as a small rally for potential 2016 presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) mushroomed into a major political event after nearly 2,000 people RSVP'd online. “We are shocked at the level of interest that we’ve received for doing this rally,” Sarasota GOP chairman Joe Gruters told Breitbart News. “It’s obvious that the state is aware that he is listening, and they’re excited about what Ted Cruz is saying and it certainly cuts across the bow of the establishment in D.C., which is maybe not trying to ‘stifle’ what Sen. Cruz is saying but certainly that Cruz is getting so much attention at the local level in a county like Sarasota shows you that he’s a major player and that people should watch out for and everything that the guy is doing,” he added. Cruz opened his remarks here with one his signature phrases. “I spent all of last week in Washington, D.C.," he said. "It is great to be back in America.” Following what will now be a sizable rally at the Sarasota Hyatt – participants are already lining up “like Black Friday campers at Best Buy,” one organizer emailed – Cruz will attend a $500 per person VIP fundraiser and, to wrap up the evening, a $5,000 per couple private donor dinner. The fundraising proceeds are going to the Sarasota County GOP party. Organizers say 1,800 people signed up for the rally and at least 200 for the dinner.

“We are a center right community,” he said. “If you look at all of our individuals and officials on a local level, they’re all pretty much just barely center right. The interest and the energy that’s being created as a result of this event is that Cruz—to me, it’s just amazing. From my standpoint, Ted Cruz is a serious political player—and it’s amazing he’s able to attract these large crowds.”...........It will get better and better.

This is great. Doesn't Ted Cruz having immense popularity in FL make it harder for the RINOs to promote Jeb Bush as a "lesser of two evils" candidate?

Cruz can win the presidency, if he can get past the powerbrokers who want a candidate they control. We shouldn't accept anyone less.

Ted Cruz and the Tea Party were made for each other. The TP is the opposite of low-information voters. They know how dangerous Big Government is and how important it is to restrain it.

There are a lot of people out there in the grassroots that are waking up. Ann Coulter and Thomas Sowell, are you listening?

‘Karl tokyo rove is crapping his depends and linda grammy and turtle mcconnell are in shock.’
And they well should be. This amazing amount of support in this location may be the end of the beginning. Senator Ted Cruz has made an impact on America by his inspiring words as well as his courageous actions. Hate him as they do, and make no mistake about it, the Mainstream Liberal Republican establishment hates Senator Cruz and everything he stands for, but with this type of grassroots support, the Mainstream Liberal Republican establishment will now have to give him some grudging respect and as little approval as possible. Then they will be in a better position to try to screw him over at the right moment.
But before the Presidential race, we have to get the turnout and support for Tea Party philosophy candidates and get them elected.
Senator Cruz is doing his part, now it is time for us to do ours.

Most definitely TWB! 2014 is shaping up to be a year where, IF WE ALL WORK HARD, the Tea Party can substantially increase the number of Tea Party Republicans in both the House and the Senate (as well as at the state & local levels).

The following is just one of many places where folks can start (there are many others).

Yes, Ted Cruz is doing his part, unlike Rand Paul who has endorsed Mitch McConnell in Kentucky. And please, don't anyone tell me that he did it before Mitch had a GOP Primary challenger. If that's the case, he's not only a TP traitor, he's freakin' STUPID!
