PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Immigration protesters marched through downtown Phoenix as part of the United We Dream campaign. An estimated 300 activists marched down Central Avenue to the Immigration & Customs Enforcement building where they held a rally.
Marchers chanted slogans like "stop the deportations now" and "I'm undocumented and un-afraid".
Dozens of Phoenix Police Officers blocked traffic for the protesters, ensured marchers stayed on the sidewalk, and ensured everyone was safe.
Some marchers had family members locked up in immigration detention centers. They demanded that the President not deport those family members and tear apart families.
Young marchers called on Governor Jan Brewer to give undocumented people drivers licenses. "People need to get to their jobs, people need to groceries, pick up their kids from school, go to school and those rights are being taken away from us" said Ray Jose.
FOX 10 asked Jose what he would say to people who say a drivers license is not a right but a privilege given to citizens, he said "Like I would just say to anyone, I'm undocumented myself and I believe I'm a human being".
Dulce Perez had a message for the President, "Imagine if you were a parent without papers and imagine if your daughters were crying for you, and what about if they deported you to another place or something. We want you to give us the immigration reform so we can be together".
Activists say more than 1,000 are deported every day under President Obama's watch.

Go back to the country you're from and you can have those rights. Here, you are an arrogant criminal leech.
If the government refuses to enforce the law, perhaps it is time to take the law back into our hands and move on these criminals.
Hey Illegal and unafraid, follow the laws and if you’d like the Privilege of becoming an American, get in line.
Detain them all, run their status, deport the illegal ones.
This isn’t rocket science.
The US ignored its own enforcement laws, for decades, in exchange for cheap labor, for the purpose of benefiting the chamber of commerce types, especially in California, plainly offering succor to the money god.
Now, we see three generations of illegals as a result, each with offspring, some who have no interest in even visiting Mexico.
My question is why the US pimped labor and lives but pays no price for its part. Republican fail in spades.
Deport them all...
The Phoenix police protected them as if they have the rights of citizens.
If a mob of white people asked to demonstrate in favor of their settlement of America and their self proclaimed right to own that land, would the Phoenix police have done anything but vilify them?
The police have been intimidated into protecting the criminals, and now facilitate Treason and Invasion.
No more squatters. Deportation is much too slow to keep up with the invasion.
All those illegals at the front door of ICE yet ICE couldn’t be bothered to do their job.
Common scene in southern AZ, used to sit on the porch with the shotgun and see runners going across the hills in front of the house every evening!
Bold and criminal.
Imagine that.
Let them stay but with NO right to ANY public benefits. NONE. Or deport them. Either/or, can’t have both(function of economics and exponential math). I’d prefer no benefits AND deportation, but the powers that be, both left and right, won’t allow that.
Foreigners telling Americans how we’re going to run OUR country. Why aren’t they at home whining to their own governments? Kick them out! We don’t need their crap here.
The police “kept them safe”?????? Shouldn’t these morons be arresting and deported these alien invaders????
Where were the counter protesters, suggesting these folks go make these demands in their homeland(s)?
It sure is tough living in the shadows.
The claim is they want the tax money from those who do more than cut lettuce. Taxation of illegals automatically makes them eligible for benefits I guess.
The problem seems to be that the lettuce cutters are too impoverished to be taxed, but over time have received benefits, health cars services unbeknownst to American citizens who foot the bills.
Basically, I believe you’re right and they should go directly to the immigration line and wait their legal turn for citizenship like any other foreign hopeful has to do.
Ellis Island standards should be required, but instead those standards have had their legs cut out from under them. Assimilation and same language makes a cohesive nation, so the Marxists prefer desparate group interests among us. It helps a people move along toward conflict and chaos, which serves socialist interests, and Marxism, and then communism. Thx—Rita
