If Milton Wolf Were A GOP Incumbent, The NRSC Would Be Defending Him (Re: X-Ray pics)

I agree with Glenn Reynolds who has more to say at link below. I’ve said the DC GOP and its apparatchiks would prefer a Democrat to a potentially rogue Conservative Republican. I believe that, especially when it comes to clowns like Brad Dayspring of the NRSC.

By the time he and his buddies get to K-Street, they can profit from both parties. Genuine reformers, not so much. It’s a career path just like any business to most of the folks in DC, including many elected pols.

I’m so concerned about whatever Wolf posted, I haven’t even bothered to look. As Ed Morrisey says, it’s old and irrelevant to the job in question. But if the NRSC can make hay over something to attack a conservative and protect a weak incumbent in a primary, they will. They go after reform-minded Republicans harder than they do Democrats.

MILT WOLF PHOTOS OF GUNSHOT VICTIMS’ X-RAYS: Scandal, or tempest in a teacup? I note that on twitter the NRSC is clearly hoping it’s enough to knock Wolf out of the race and save incumbent Pat Roberts.

Of course they would. But they protect their own because republican incumbents are only supposed to be removed by democrats. That is the natural order of things for them. The idea that the people of Kansas should be represented by another REPUBLICAN, is just abhorrent to them!

One by one, the powers that be are going after conservatives running for senate seats. First Brannon, then Bevin, now Wolf.

As Bones was wont to say to Captain Kirk, “He’s dead, Jim.” And so it is with Milton Wolf, so don’t try to turn him into another Todd Akin.

Politics is nasty business which means that step one in any campaign is to vet your candidate. Wolf has now been vetted and been found wanting. Unfortunately, there’s probably not anyone else out there will to stand up to Roberts. The last thing that Roberts wants to do is to have to run a campaign, but he will turn his dirt digging dogs loose on anyone who trys to run against him.

At The Other McCain, Dr. Wolf responds:

My training as a diagnostic radiologist included the critical component of studying medical images published both in textbooks and online. I have myself authored and published educational material that teaches medical imaging to medical students and doctors. Of the thousands of medical images I have published I have taken care to maintain patient privacy.

Several years ago I made some comments about these images that were insensitive to the seriousness of what the images revealed. Soon thereafter, I removed those images and comments, again several years ago. For them to be published in a much more public context now, by a political adversary who would rather declare war on doctors than answer serious questions that Kansans have, is truly sad. However, my mistakes are my own and I take full responsibility for them.

I have said throughout this campaign and long before it began that I bear the scars of taking the Oath to my patients. When I was 15 years old, I stood at my father’s bedside, himself a rural doctor, and watched him take his last breath. It was at that moment that I knew I would take his torch and dedicate my life to serving patients in need. I’m reminded just how extraordinarily difficult the burden is when I have failed to live up to his example.

It is an incredible honor and an enormous burden to work shoulder-to-shoulder with dedicated people who every day run towards the screaming instead of away. The cumulative effect of day after day, year after year, witnessing so much human suffering, so much tragedy, takes its toll. I’ve seen the burdens of practicing medicine tear apart families and drive good people to vice and as great as the honor is to serve, I would still not wish the burdens of it upon anyone. To those I have offended, I am truly sorry and I ask for your forgiveness.

And now, years later, because I have declared that I am willing to stand up for my country, Senator Pat Roberts wants to attack me as a doctor rather than giving Kansans a reason to vote for him. It’s sad. Pat Roberts has not been able to identify a single issue on which he thinks I am wrong and so he’s doing things the Washington way: character assassination. Kansans should know that I will not be intimidated by their bullying. I did not back down when Barack Obama’s IRS audited me and I will not back down from the desperate attacks of a 47-year Washington insider either.

And yet there are a fair number of freepers on various threads ready to throw in the towel already over this stuff. I begin to wonder if some folks are really just gluttons for punishment.

They’re hand-wringers who say “he has an “r” next to his name! Don’t rock the boat!!!”

And then we end up with types like Richard Lugar (who endorsed the democrat in GA this year), John Warner (who endorsed the democrat in VA this year), Arlen Specter (who became a democrat), Ted Stevens (who consistently voted with the democrats), etc.

And who exactly are the people that are going through Milton Wolf’s facebook account from FOUR YEARS AGO, but don’t bother to check where SENATOR ROBERTS has been living IN THE STATE HE REPRESENTS??

"Politics is nasty business which means that step one in any campaign is to vet your candidate. Wolf has now been vetted and been found wanting. "

We have a vice president who was caught on tape making racist comments about how you need an "Indian accent" to go to the Dunkin Donuts, (because- of course, of course, that's all "those people" supposedly do- "work at the Kwikie Mart")... it didn't stop him one bit.

We have another guy who sat in a church listening to a rabid anti-Semitic racist for years on end... and yet he has been elected president twice.

Sure, there are certain things in a candidate's past that would cause me not to consider him or her viable for public office... but the reality is, as long as we continue to fall into this trap set for us by the left and the Establsihment GOP, we will continue to suffer.

I hope Milton just raises H*LL over this. There were no privacy issues, and he publishes X-Ray professionally. if only Roberts would go after all the things barry keeps private, that should be public.

Your home page indicates you are from Massachusetts and yet you are on every thread knocking Roberts and supporting Wolf. Tell me the votes that have made Roberts your target. Tell me what you personally know about Wolf that we in Kansas don't. Nobody here has ever heard of him before he declared. Why should we support him? And don't give me that crap about him not living in Kansas. He works in Washington so he has a home there. He also has a home in Kansas which he rents out. A lot of congressmen do the same.

Comparing Democrats to Republicans is meaningless. Democrats have demonstrated over and over again their willingness to vote for crooks, incompetents, and immorals degenerates so long as they had out plenty of free stuff. Republicans are not inclined to do this, although there is evidence that things are changing.

Character flawed Democrats can certainly win elections. Republicans with such defects usually cannot. I think that I would prefer to find better candidates rather than rationalize why I should support some dumbass.

Yes, I’m from MA and my goal is to make the US Senate more conservative, and not to protect senators who just have an “r” next to their names.

These are the republican senators up for reelection this year and their conservative averages based on THIER votes. Roberts has a 78% conservative average and trending downward. Given another six years, Roberts will soon be in the mid 70’s, then in the low 70’s, etc. Senator since 1997, congressman since 1981. Time to go.

We should endeavor in EVERY election cycle to replace those who have begun to vote badly so we don’t end up with more types like Lugar, Warner, Stevens, Hatch, Cochran, etc, who give the democrats a vote when they need one because they’re good buddies. Rotation in office is one of the keys to liberty. These people are not aristocrats who are entitled to keep their office until THEY decide to retire.

I’m getting tired of all these percentages. Give me specific votes that should preclude Roberts from being re-elected. Like I said before, he is over 90 in 2 of these. If he is lower in others what were the issues. Something tells me these different groups are not agreeing with each other on the issues.

Look them up yourself if you’re interested. Different rating agencies rate on different issues. My intent was to create an easy to view comparison of one senator against another, while at the same time preventing politicians from fooling the people by picking and choosing one agency over another.

Club for Growth released their 2013 numbers today finally. You may be interested to know that Roberts’ average has moved up to 84%, so he did better last year than the year before.

Hopefully these politicians will catch on that the winds are moving in a conservative direction and that they’d better vote more with Cruz and less with McCain if they want to survive their next election. That’s the point of all this.
