Does Cecile Richards' life matter?
[insert Philip K. Dick reference here]
In a sick and twisted way, she’s right. Once you accept the notion that murder at any stage of fetal development is okay, the start of life really is irrelevant. In effect, she says, “We don’t care when life begins because we’re going to end it any damn time we want.”
A child’s life and a mother’s pregnancy begins at conception. The pregnancy consists of the embryonic and fetal stages of the unborn child’s development. Abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. The “deliberate termination” is accomplished by killing the unborn child. Murder is defined as the unlawful, premeditated killing of one human being by another. Abortion avoids the murder charge simply because judges and courts have deemed it lawful.
