My better half is mostly Polish, but has enough Croatian in her to look like these two.
She is almost always mistaken for a paisan by all of the Italians here in Pittsburgh.

We must import them. The place to meet is on a Carnival cruise. I told one that what I wished for her was a GOOD American husband. She grabbed my arm and said”take me!” Look my friends: They work very hard on those ships. They’re away from home for months at a time. They would make great Americans. This country is dying. We end up with La Raza types from Mexico. Does that mean us conservatives are going to have to marry liberal American women to bring them around and save us? Go ahead-it won’t be me. That babe was 30. I’m 60. Perfect match.

While I was stationed in Italy, we were right next door to Croatia and the women there were absolutely beautiful. Being a crossroads between Europe and Asia, they mixed some excellent bloodlines.

I too had an old girlfriend who was Croatian.
And as I mentioned above, my wife is Croatian enough to look very Croatian (or, to the uninformed, Italian).
So my wife and this old girlfriend do look a whole lot alike.
So after I had gotten married and came back for my next high-school reunion, the old girlfriend was sitting down at the other end of the room, noticing that my wife looked a whole lot like she did.
She started flashing me these death looks and shaking her head as if to say “this is the sickest thing I’ve ever seen in my life!”
Thank God it’s Friday.
Gonna be a busy weekend.
