I too had an old girlfriend who was Croatian.
And as I mentioned above, my wife is Croatian enough to look very Croatian (or, to the uninformed, Italian).
So my wife and this old girlfriend do look a whole lot alike.
So after I had gotten married and came back for my next high-school reunion, the old girlfriend was sitting down at the other end of the room, noticing that my wife looked a whole lot like she did.
She started flashing me these death looks and shaking her head as if to say “this is the sickest thing I’ve ever seen in my life!”
