Paul voted against the amnesty bill in the Senate. In fact, you can’t point us to even one pro-amnesty vote by Rand Paul, can you?

If you prefer another candidate for President, that’s perfectly fine, but making stuff up isn’t the way to convince others.

I’ll repeat what I’ve said elsewhere:

I voted for Alan Keyes (twice), but he is not on my short list at this point, not that I don’t like him, but simply because I doubt that he will be a viable candidate this time around.

If I were king I would appoint a ticket something like Antonin Scalia/Tony Perkins, but I’m not king.

As a social conservative, I’m cautious about Rand Paul. I’m neither ruling him in nor out at this point, but he’s not on my first tier.

My short list of candidates that I am most interested in watching at this point are (in alphabetical order):

Ted Cruz
Bobby Jindal
Sarah Palin
Mike Pence
Rick Perry
Rick Santorum

Thanks. Rand, prior to becoming a senator, brought up ending birthright citizenship via the 14th Amendment.

In 2010, Rand Paul had an actual conservative position on Amnesty, and I would have whole-heartedly supported him for POTUS because in real terms, that is the killer for POTUS support.

Since then, he came out with his own Amnesty plan, and since that is a country killer, I can't vote for him.

Agree. As a very successful Governor with spunk -Scott Walker has executive experience - Cruz & Rand do not. They would add considerable Congressional expertise to a Pres. ticket. I like Perry - but Perry’s down-home persona will once again be panned by the press.

Remembering the McCain-Palin ticket. Palin had a better resume and more spine.

Per my tagline, I’ll mostly interested in getting a conservative as our nominee—especially a social conservative. I’m flexible as to who, as long as they fit that bill. I won’t support a non-conservative.

False Dichotomy and Strawman as well.

Romney couldn't even be called a GOP Establishment candidate with his Progressive Record and his support of the Gay Agenda, and Abortion, and nothing in regards to limited government and small "l" libertarian policy positions.

Additionally, we aren't talking about Establishment Republican candidates are we?!

We're talking about Conservative Republican Candidates who fully, authentically support limited government, no Amnesty, Pro-Life, does not support the Gay Agenda, Pro-Military etc.

Rand Paul fails on the Amnesty front, and I am guessing, that given his support for moving Gay Marriage to the state level, he'll eventually fail on the social conservative issues as well.

The Paulbots have a well-known reputation for spamming CPAC, and online polls trying to create a false perception that somehow, either Ron or Rand Paul are somehow in the lead in terms of popularity. Last election cycle it was Ron Paul for POTUS. Remember he one the CPAC poll then, and I believe in 2008 as well, and yet, how many state primaries did he win?

Because of the spamming, the polls become meaningless.
