Why did the state ever get involved in marriage..one reason...reproduction and legal inherently. ..think henry the eight..he took over the church in his country to give himself a divorce .if he wanted a male child he could just bed the women he wanted with out being married to her .but any child would be a baster with no legal standing..he had to be married to the mother..same reason a woman should being a virgin and must consummate else a marriage could be anulled..legal heirs.. the state had one reason only to get in to marriage. .reproduction of legal heirs

What does that even mean, “when did the state get involved in marriage”?

Do you mean the Spartans, Greece, Rome, the United States, Mohammed and Islam, New Guinea headhunters, tribal law for the Sioux, what kind of silly question is that?

If you are interested in our own country, the United States of America, then ask about it.

What is your point, you want us to be ruled by the Mosque, or some national church, that you must accept or die? Is that your political position that you want to sell?
