NYP: Obama 'Confusing Ideas in His Head with Reality- Not Clear that He Knows the Difference'
Reaganite Republican ^ | 18 March 2014 | Reaganite Republican

Posted on 03/19/2014 9:06:25 AM PDT by Reaganite Republican

In a harsh assessment of the radical, incompetent, and now nearly rudderless Obama regime, Michael Goodwin says that most of us can't truly grasp what a comprehensive mess this once-thriving nation has been put in, not just economically but strategically. Alas, the dawning realization that we are nothing like the America of just 6 years ago is starting to hit with the Crimean crisis, where the spectacle of John Kerry attempting to deal with Vladimir Putin has been characterized as 'a cupcake negotiating with a steak knife'.

Remember how Obama told us how if we could just learn to get-along with other countries -even the Europeans disliked Bush- everything would be wine and roses? Well every single country in Europe agrees that the Russian land grab is illegal, just like us... but we're doing nothing about it... and Vladimir Putin is just laughing at us. So I guess lack of allies wasn't the problem- and leading by committee isn't the answer.

Goodwin also made some good points that -once they start to sink in- are actually quite chilling: i.e. we can't even hope for the kind of correction Jimmy Carter made in foriegn policy/military posture by 1979, when he started to realize he'd been played for a fool and the USSR had possibly even achieved military superiority on his watch. Rather, there will be no honest self-assessments, adjustments, or other effective corrections from this White House- there never is.

He points out that Obama is actually so delusional -and so married to the liberal mind-set that American power is the problem- that an effective improvement in US military prestige and capabilites is all but impossible, as he and the entire Prog movement (similar to bowel movement) would have to admit that they were wrong... and the Dick Cheneys of the world were right. Anybody think that will ever happen?

Instead, we will get the standard Obama complete-and-utter-lack-of-self-awareness along more of the same pacifist defeatism that made WWII possible, while justifications are handed to the Russians, excuses for our failures are made, fingers pointed, and propaganda spewed... just like all the failed Obammunist 'green' boondoggles and disproven climate-change BS has had zero effect on this misguided Administration's green energy/radical environmentalism nonsense... they just put their fingers in their ears and shout 'la la la, I can't hear you' as they continue to do as they damn well please, like a kindergartener.

That's why we will continue this downward spiral in our military might and preparedness while Obama focusses on the real enemy, American conservatives. Expect tyranny at home and limp-wristed US military policy overseas with NO credibility for the voice of the United States in international affairs -oh, and a nuclear Iran, too- by January 2017.

There will be a reckoning. If not today, then soon. But there will be a reckoning. Look what happened to Mussolini, Ceausescu, Louis XIV and other absolute rulers.

“I will never forgive anyone who voted for this creep”

I completely disassociated with anybody I knew who voted for him. Life is too short to deal with idiots.

Obama is bad, but it’s the Democrat Party that foisted this dipstick on us. And they would like to foist Hillary on us. The Democrat Party is the real problem.

oh, and a nuclear Iran, too- by January 2017.

how the heck can this be? Joe Biden said there was no way during his debate with Paul Ryan:

Biden said: “We will not allow the Iranians to get a nuclear weapon. What Bibi held up there was: when they get to the point where they can enrich uranium enough to put into a weapon. They don’t have a weapon to put it into. Let’s all calm down a little bit here. Iran is more isolated today than when we took office.”

Ryan said that Iran was “four years closer toward a nuclear weapons capability” and added that U.S. sanctions on Iran were only implemented by Congress “in spite of the administration.” Regarding the possibility of U.S. military action, Biden said “we feel quite confident we could deal a serious blow to the Iranians.” But the vice president added that Iran is “a good way away” from getting a nuclear weapon...

Biden said that “war should always be the absolute last resort” and stressed that sanctions are crippling for Iran. Echoing Obama’s past statements on the issue of all options being on the table, Biden said: “We’ve made it clear: Big nations can’t bluff. This president doesn’t bluff.”

I was convinced no president could beat Buchanan as the worst in US history. Looks like I was wrong.

” every single country in Europe agrees that the Russian land grab is illegal, just like us... but we’re doing nothing about it... and Vladimir Putin is just laughing at us. ”

Then again, I don’t see Europe lifting a finger to do a thing about it and they are directly affected by this.

I wonder, wonder, wonder???

Was America once the the peace dividend for the world?

1) Dem Senator on MSNBC: Russia’s "Weak" Invasion Proof of Obama’s "Strength"

2) Russia 'naked and alone' in front of the world....U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden says

A free and independent press would eviscerate these guys. Instead, Baghdad Bob has become mainstream.

I will never forgive anyone who voted for this creep[.]

I didn't vote for Obama. I have said on this site that Obama is the most worthless pile of meat on the planet, and that jackals barf up stuff more valuable than he is.

But an air of superiority exuded by some people is just useless nonsense. You can detect that air of superiority when some people say something like what you said. Grow up. Help us figure out what to do about him. That will help a lot more than not forgiving people.

A nuclear Iran is a game changer. While the idiot in the White House may think it’s a good thing, I hope the Israelis will put a stop to it.

Double thanks are in order:

First, for a great post correctly pointing out why it is impossible for Obama see past his liberal/radical views to the reality of the world, and

Second, for posting your entire blog article here on FR. Humblegunner will be happy!

Air of superiority? You betcha! I have a brain. I can think critically. Yes, superior to any liberal.

Jimmy Carter runs circles around him. Carter saw the American people as having a malaise, but they weren’t his enemy. He didn’t cheat and lost 44 states.

There is a headline on the FR Forum right now that sums it all up very succinctly:

"Putin Redraws Russian Borders; Obama Unveils Bracket Picks"

And a thanks to RR for his contributions to FR - which I don't always agree with, but value nonetheless.

Actually, it’s the Prog Movement. The Dem party is just one component/subsidiary of it. As are Unions, charitable foundations, activist groups, etc.

I did the same thing. I have nothing to do with ANYONE who voted for him. Friends, strangers, co-workers, family, no one. And none of them believe they made a mistake. They’d all vote for him again if they could.

In his defense, he’s not confused, he’s just lies constantly, and relies on his co-conspirators in the Demagogic Party (in and out of office), most NGOs, the Partisan Media Shills (and not just NPR and PBS) and every single “labor” union in the country to push his agenda and do a “1984” job on whatever he gaffes.

Thanks Reaganite Republican.
