Skip to comments.Mark Levin: McConnell just cut the legs right out from under House Republicans…

Earlier today we wrote about how Cruz, Lee, Paul, Enzi, and Robertson were all standing together to strip the IMF legislation out of the aid package bill for Ukraine. As I said earlier, the IMF legislation would basically double the contribution of the US to the IMF fund while lessening Americas influence over how that money is spent.
So what does McConnell do? Does he stand with the filibuster effort? No, pushes Republicans to vote for the bill, thus making sure to get Harry Reid his 60 votes to pass the bill to prevent the filibuster led by Cruz and the others.
So now Reids Ukraine aid bill containing the IMF legislation has bipartisan support and he will use that to hammer the House to accept his bill. And we all know what tends to happen when Reid and Obama gang up on the House leadership. They fold like a lawn chair on a rainy day.
Mark Levin says McConnell and the Republican leadership could learn something from Putin, that is Obama will eventually fold if you stand firm against him.
Listen below as Levin explains it in much more detail below:

He’s a corrupt slime looking to bankrupt this country even further. VOTE HIM OUT!
G.O.P. stands for “GIVE. OBAMA. POWER.”
The EXEMPT Congress will DO ANYTHING to maintain
their power above all “laws” that they write for others.
King George did not have the audacity
of the self-serving, utterly hated, EXEMPT US Congress.
McConnell is a collaborator.
Is anyone watching "House of Cards"? It's pretty much how I imagine Washington to be.
Please KY, dump this turd.
Two words...Matt Bevin
I’m in N Ky, and we are trying. Lots of Matt Bevin signs and conversations. Starting to see the “DITCH MITCH” signs and window decals. Sadly, I’ll vote for Grimes (D) if McConnell wins the primary.
Don’t be haters. Over the last three years, I’ve asked Mitch in every email and the few letters I’ve written him regarding issues to also step down at the end of his term. Boilerplate responses from his Lexington office.
For any fellow Kentuckians on the fence about Bevin. I ask that you google for what Mitch did to push Sen. Bunning out of office.
I have been battling GOPe puke apologists on this site for ages. There is a 99% chance that Boehner and McConnell will be "leaders" come Jan 2016.
A small step for Liberty is for all Conservatives to stop voting the the lesser of two evils.
Come Jan 2016 Boehner and McConnel (along with Rove) will likely be laughing at the Tea Party -- they will seek to destroy the Conservatives that remain in Congress.
RINO apologists are still floating around, but most have been kicked out it seems. Good riddance.
Yes good point. We need a CLEAN bill to GIVE OUR TAX MONEY TO UKRAINE, no strings attached! Only RINOs want to put on strings. Real conservatives want to GIVE TAX MONEY TO UKRAINE, no strings attached!
yes, MArk Levin is right. We MUST give our TAX MONEY to UKRAINE - and any amendments are LIBERAL!!!!!
there’s only ONE conservative policy here: No IMF amendment - just free tax money for Ukraine, and lots of it! After all, it’s not like we need our taxes cut — give the money to Ukraine! Right on, Mark Levin!
But, hey. An 80 percent Republican is better than a Democrat. Or at least that’s what we’re told.
I think most conservatives object to the IMF’s involvement, PERIOD. What strings will they attach to the money? They already made homosexualism a prerequisite for Uganda aid. Do we really want a bunch of globalist shills taking even more US money and having full say over how it is spent?
I would much rather any strings be decided by the House, if any money is given at all.
Sen. Cruz was right. The IMF provisions had to be stripped.
Even if you think that we should not aid the Ukraine, there was no way the entire bill could be stopped. Cruz had an achievable goal to remove the IMF provisions, but McConnell caved.
You are taking issue only with Levin on a hypothetical issue.
This self-important PRICK would rather kill off America than support ANY EFFORT lead by Ted Cruz.
yes Cruz is right - TAX MONEY FOR UKRAINE andLOTS OF IT! that’s why we send conservatives to Congress - to vote to send out tax money for foreign countries!
It’s never ending
no way the entire bill can be stopped? why not? why isn’t Cruz filibustering tax money for Ukraine? because he’s ok with that! another phony - give our tax money to foreign countries - “conservative”
This turd needs to be flushed.
Just wondering, if you were in charge, would you let Ukraine flop in the wind with Russia breathing down their necks?
It is my understanding that we have an agreement with Ukraine, so tell me William, does that agreement only apply when America is in the mood to help?
Curious why you are beating a dead horse here.
Curious why you are beating a dead horse here.
I’m curious why conservatives only care about the federal deficit and debt when it comes to domestic spending - e.g., GOP (correctly) instisted on no extension of unemployment benies without corresponding savings elsewhere. But foreign aid? Hey, spend as much as you like! No questions asked! Same with foreign wars. Boehner reflexively sided with Obama’s plan to bomb Syria - without asking any questions about the cost - until voters rose up and said H-ll no!
As for Ukraine, somebody has to persuade me it matters to me and to U.S. security - enough to further increase our debt, spend our tax money (or the money we borrow from China) - whose flag flies over its capital. I haven’t seen the case made. Just a lot of rhetoric. Somehow it’s a crisis that Russia is invading its neighbor - but we’ve been invading countries (Obama into Libya, anyone?) on the other side of the globe, and GOP was fine with it (and they spent our tax dollars big time; no grumbling about the deficit).
