I've read all threads about Mozilla melt down and all suggestions to replace Firefox but everybody seems to have a different opinion. So what is the best alternative to Firefox? Hopefully some of you guys will agree on one browser. I switched to Opera and I like it but just want to make sure. What about Seamonkey? Security etc..? Thank you for your time :-)

View selection source allows you to select a part of the content and then check the source. If you are looking for a CSS tag for instance, here is no way you will find it if you click on source only, like on a WordPress source code where here is so much javascript and all. You can just highlight one line and see the tags you are looking for in one second without scrolling. Only Firefox or alternative has it.

I deleted Firefox from both my computers yesterday. Those people are dangerous.
Is Palemoon ok on Mac?

It says on their homepage that Windows is required. I just installed Opera on my Mac and also two of its add-ons...AdBlock and Ghostery. Seems to work fine.
Most important thing is to make sure the google toolbar is removed from any Mozilla-derived browser you choose. That’s where the money comes from.

Been using Opera since 2009, too, when I switched to Win-7 Pro x64.
As Mozilla notes in its report, about 85 percent of its royalty revenue in 2011 came from its contract with Google. While Mozilla has similar deals with other search engines, including Microsoft’s Bing, it’s clear that the majority of Firefox users still prefer to use Google. “The receivable from this search engine provider [Google] represented 77 percent and 64 percent of the December 31, 2011 and 2010 outstanding receivables, respectively.”
So it does look like if you use their google toolbar they make money from that.

There’s enough smart guys on here; let’s start our own browser. I’ll chip in 10 bucks for the domain name and another 2 for privacy. :)
This is a good thread. I’ve never heard of Pale Moon before and will try that on our Windows 7 machines.
One thing that hasn’t been mentioned is the Mozilla email client, Thunderbird. I’ve used Firefox and Thunderbird for years on both Linux and Windows computers. For the moment, I have switched to the “unbranded” Debian versions of those for Linux (Icedove and Iceweasel). For a more complete break, I will also look at Claws mail (again, Linux only). All of these email clients are compatible with openPGP encryption which I use a lot.
The unfortunate thing is that the mess that Mozilla has made really reflects badly on the entire free software movement as they all share much the same “values.”
In the longer term, I’ll wait to see where Eich lands. I’m sure he’ll be doing something interesting. The fact that he stuck to his principles says volumes.
I am happily using Opera, its far faster than Firefox. If you want a Firefox clone essentially, get Pale Moon.

All these silicon valley companies share the same "culture" as far as I can tell. Mozilla just got caught out at it.
If there is a browser firm out there who will explicitly stand by an executive who supports traditional marriage, please show me. I will switch to their product at once.
Until then I see no need to drop Mozilla for another company that enforces the PC dogma in a less public way.
