I actually preferred the robo-voice to a live person because it only involved having me press a button for each question rather than having a little voice in my head wondering if the person on the other end was representing my views accurately or not. Last time I was polled by a person she sounded like TaShawnda from Compton and axed me questions with an accusatory tone.

Since I’m currently not working I try to make it a game to waste the time of most telemarketers. But when it comes to political polls I want to make sure my voice is heard so if I read an article that quotes a recent poll I can think that maybe I steered the results a tad. If every FReeper got polled about Jeb Bush his numbers would suck out loud and Rove might tell him to quietly bow out.

Caller ID happened to be one of the phone features and helps, but the best part is the answering machine part when I'm home to monitor the message. I don't have to drop what I'm doing to run like a robot to the phone just because it rings.
If it is important the caller will say so.
