Happened in Iraq too. Rounds flying around with a CNN cameraman filming while standing up. Sometimes, they died.

Bundy continues on to tell reporters “My forefathers have been up and down the Virgin Valley ever since 1877. All these rights I claim have been created through pre-emptive rights and beneficial use of the forage and water. I have been here longer. My rights are before the BLM even existed.”

Email forwarded to me by Dr. Jim Garrow. Former CIA Agent and author of The Pink Pagoda

We, the people, have for a moment in time caused the momentum of the Marxist takeover of America to pause for a moment.

The Bundy Ranch Hiatus, by Dr. Jim Garrow, April 13, 2014

While the Federal government, aka Obama's Team, are pulling back in order to allow a slightly woozy American public to go back to sleep, let us review. The American ship of State is slowly changing course. Bundy Ranch and the social media that have tracked and reported accurately the events there, have caused "the smartest man in the room" to evaluate the "cause and effect" of the heavy handed federal presence in Nevada. This is a good thing, but only if we the people evaluate what is really happening. We have managed to maneuver the rudder of State to the right. We the people, have for a moment in time caused the momentum of the marxist takeover of America to pause for a moment. That effort, led by Bathhouse Barry, is in constant revision mode, gathering information from across the nation and gauging the temperature of the public response.

This was a slight set back, but as with all learning by the seat of your pants, a chance to chart a new course. Valerie Jarrett is wiping her brow sweat, thinking how close they came to causing deaths. If that had happened, it would have spelled the beginning of the end for the marxists in the elite positions in both the White House and the government offices that they now rule with an iron fist.

The effective communications that social media on the internet have become cannot begin to be evaluated in all its strengths. But this we do know. The speed of the lightening communications that we can have and the ability to have folks respond is bringing a new game to the table. And know this, for Bathhouse Barry this is a game. While the rest of fly over country and the preponderance of regular Americans hold faith and God and patriotism close to their hearts and indicative of who they are as balanced psyche's, we know inside that something is off with Barack and buddies. We know the difference between phony and genuine, and we are usually fairly slow to judge and that speaks to our belief in fairness and giving the other guy a chance. But we also know what brute force is and we rejected it back in 1776. We have been rejecting it ever since. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice shame on you, Barack.

Never has there ever been a time when we as a nation absolutely need our militia groups as this time and this day and these current events. The totalitarians could care less about the Constitution, the Rule of Law, settled precedent, or historic agreement. All they care about is our obedience to their rule and regulation and law. Hitler took the same approach, as did Stalin. Millions died, harassed, arrested, ruined, crushed, and made to bow the knee to the State.

America woke up this past week to where this nation was heading under Obama, and one man named Cliven, stood up and said No. When the next occasion of the overreach of the autocrat takes place I know that we will react with speed and determination to see that the Bundy Ranch does not become a picture of what will happen to all of us if we do not honor the wisdom of the Founding Fathers and put government in its place. We are their masters, not their servants. Be prepared, we will be called upon again to stand up to the marxists in our Capital, on a ranch, on a road, in a subdivision or any place where they need to be stopped.

Cooler heads my ass.

Harry Reid didn’t like the spotlight being turned on him. He most likely ordered the BLM stand down.

I see no reason to deploy troops against citizens. This is crazy behavior. If the government wanted something they should have first negotiated, then gone to court. There should never have been any use of force or threat of force. This is the same craziness as Elian Gonzales and Waco.

Apparently, having armed forces generates the need to use them. We need to take away all of these paramilitary police and agencies. I recently read that even the IRS has a SWAT unit. Really? Why? They can’t whistle up a sheriff or the FBI?

Well he’s right about one thing. If the Feds had started shooting people it may well kicked off CWII. This country is a powder keg. There are many more skirmishes to follow and some may be way worse than this. The US govt under the Muslim/Communist regime will not stop trying.

From the sipsey street site, re the guy on the bridge:

“I certainly wouldn’t want to be this guy either. He posted his name and picture on social media shortly after the incident. He was in an overwatch position with his sights on BLM and police officers during the standoff. I’d imagine he’ll be getting a knock on the door in the next few days...”

Not good.

We, the people, have for a moment in time caused the momentum of the Marxist takeover of America to pause for a moment.

Marxists are VERY patient. They say to themselves, "well, that didn't work out too well. We'll be less blatant next time so no one sees what's going on." The only real losers here have been the MSM in their efforts to enable the commies.

On one of the threads I recall reading that there were 80 BLM Ranger SUV’s. If they were in fact all BLM SUV’s that’s a remarkable number as the 2014 BLM web page lists:

“The BLM fields a force of approximately 200 Law Enforcement Rangers (uniformed officers) and 70 Special Agents (criminal investigators)”

That’s a very high percentage of their total 50 state uniformed force.

If the government wanted something they should have first negotiated, then gone to court. Well, to be technical about it, they DID go to court. More than once. Won every time. This was their effort to enforce the court order. What I'm wondering is whether (a) next time it'll be the US Marshals enforcing the order, and (b) whether they might not consider a less confrontational, but more effective, way of inducing compliance. Like for example getting a monetary judgment for the $1M in fines - which is not dischargeable in bankruptcy - and simply levying on his bank accounts. That can be done entirely electronically, with no flash point of direct physical confrontation. Or they could obtain a charging order on the proceeds of any sale of his cattle, and take that order to every one of the beef processors in the tri-state area. The processors would then be legally obligated to remit payment to the Feds, and not to Bundy. I don't understand why they haven't gone that route already, to be honest.

Actually, I didn’t know that as I haven’t followed this. But I suspect they used the confrontational forces because they have them. But, as you point out, the less confrontational approach should work better. So, what is the long term prognosis? (And, actually, I’m against any government ownership of land. Clinton added hugely to the total making millions more acres forever undevelopable.)

That's what I'm wondering. The guy on the bridge was a very visible reminder that they were down in a kill-box. But did they get a hint that there were other people set up on ridgelines 500 to 1000 yds out? Guys that were in cover and well beyond the effective range of the pretty little M4s they were carrying?

Right wrong or otherwise from a legal and moral standpoint the BLM on-scene commander made the right call to get his people out of there in one piece.

I was on the way up..either it was going to be yesterday late afternoon or today, as a fellow had called and told me they really needed help. I live about 2 and 1/2 hours from there.

Then i heard the reports of the agreement and quit “packing” my things...

So, this morn, the fellow called and told me the whole story. those government snipers that were on the hills around there? They were covered by our boys up the mountain sides. They make hits from a long way off-and that aint no lie either.
I was seriously trying to stay away for personal reasons.

Here’s my question….

When did they print up that nice “First Amendment Area” sign? Whose idea was that? Was this a planned confrontation for media purposes?

If the Gov of the state had any balls he would have called up the Nat Guard to support Bundy. THAT would have been interesting.

Would have royally pissed me off having spectators over my shoulder while I am at work, next time move them back, at the very least they are an irritant if not an out an out liability, and should the lead start flying a bunch of casualties slowing the works down.

Sometimes good intentions need to be curbed when business is at hand. That guy should have had a spotter and still yet another to oversee everything else unexpected.

“If the Gov of the state had any balls he would have called up the Nat Guard to support Bundy. “

I believe things changed not long ago such that the president now controls the national guard. I don’t know what the governor’s powers are regarding the guard now. Perhaps somebody can comment on this?

I’d suspect, though, that unless the governor wanted to open a can of worms he’d beg off. The feds can strike back in nearly unlimited ways that would put more pressure on the governor than most could handle politically. For example, suppose they stopped all federal highway funds and Medicare/Medicaid payments? I’m sure there are other things I haven’t thought of. Very shortly people would be howling for the governor’s head.
