Skip to comments.HOAX EXPOSED: NYT Edited Version Of Bundy Comments
Posted on 04/24/2014 3:37:15 PM PDT by stirrinthepuddin
Watch Bundy explain how we need to keep things from going backwards for blacks, and how the Federal government has created a neo-slave class via entitlement dependency that is so bad it is arguably worse than plantation slavery was.
It is 100% clear that Cliven Bundy is not saying that blacks should be slaves picking cotton, but that the Federal government has created conditions for them so terrible, that their current situation may actually be worse. (If you are person of low intelligence, the fact that that is his point might be too hard for you to understand.) And hes not blaming blacks for the issues of abortions, and crime and broken families, hes blaming the Feds.

I agree. As long as the conservative media talking heads side with the left, we will never coalesce against the onslaught. Beck, Hannity, Hedgecock, et al, will point and declare us the radical fringe. The GOP does that with incredible audacity already.
Then we have within the ranks of Free Republic the timid, fair weather conservatives who shrinks back from the fray when it gets too heated.
Call it ‘Cheshire Conservatism. Has a ring to it. Just like the cat in Wonderland, their conservatism appears and disappears as needed.
See also “Situational ethics.”
Sure as night follows day. FR is infiltrated by leftists with the intent to keep us from coalescing behind ANYTHING that may hurt Democrats.
I’m not sure how the government is going to manipulate people, at this point, into lying down and letting government agencies walk all over them.
It doesn’t really matter what Bundy or anyone else says in an interview that the politically correct don’t like.
HE put himself up as the victim here. Cameras just don’t come up and starting asking ANYONE to speak about this stuff.
His comments are not just offensive to the liberal minded media, but they are offensive period.
If you are going to put yourself up front, you should have the brains to deal with this. This guy sounds like an idiot who’s won the lottery and is on his fifth case of Jack Daniels.
It has nothing to do with what the government is doing. However, his foolishness certainly puts everything he’s said into question.
Only fools would stand up for this fool.
We need to call it out each and every time it happens. Had we done it without fear from the start, it would have never progressed to what it has.
I get that people don’t want the grief. but the grief came to them. It has to be addressed.
Oh look! There’s the favorite liberal meme...”I’m offended!”
I like your honesty BfloGuy!
And ishould have done what? Put on my cammo and dew rag and driven to Nevada with my AR15 and look tough in front of the cameras? The only fools who look more stupid than Bundy are the “patriots” who think that not paying fees for twenty years is a good plan.
So yes, I worked and I watched the circus.
This is the wrong fight, at the wrong place, for the wrong reason. Too many folks are just hoping to start a civil war they are not prepared to fight without thinking past walking around like roosters. And like roosters, you will end up with your heads cut off and no idea how it happened.
They will continue to go with the short version despite the hoax being exposed. Why? Because even with the long version it is still too lengthy an explanation for Americans to sit through and comprehend.
Bundy’s words are too easily taken out of context and the counter explanation too time consuming.
No, not necessarily a fraud. Just not able to differentiate YET between the truth and a lie.
EVERYTHING the media reports about Bundy and about Obama has to be suspect: because the media hates Bundy and worships Obama. Because the second clause in that statement is correct, the first statement must be true.
In the HEAT of a 24/7 news cycle, anyone might be tempted to rush to judgment.
I say give fellow conservatives a break when they jump the gun like this...it is a natural human response.
Has a solid ring to it.
you need to say that again, and loudly. please.
I wonder sometimes, don't you?
Post #4 totally agree. Lots of HotAir commentators drunk the koolaid too.
Tom DeLay was the House Majority leader who was falsely indicted by Ronnie Earle in Texas, just to get him removed from House Republican leadership.
The full video along with his radio response has been available most of the day. It doesn’t make what Bundy said any better or any more politically palatable.
If people wish to bury their heads in the sand and think these comments are not absolute political poison even in the very best of context, I guess it’s just further proof that a whole lot of well meaning conservatives have zero political sense.
Talking about “the Negro” and the fact that they haven’t learned how to “pick cotton” and wondering aloud whether they might not have been better off as slaves is just not going to fly. With these comments, Bundy has destroyed himself and tarred a lot of politicians that stood, however tentatively, with him.
I don’t think Bundy is probably much of a hater. He’s from another generation and maybe just hasn’t updated his vocabulary. I can see he was thinking out loud and trying to point out how destructive the social welfare state is, but you just can’t go around saying things like this and think it won’t cause a firestorm that won’t end well for anyone who says it or is associated with it.
This thread reminds me of the Akin threads. Every political realist understood that his idiotic rape comments had destroyed any chance he had to win, yet so many people refused to see political reality. We got 6 more years of Claire because of that.
I'm sure there are a great many that will...more than we care to admit, anyway. Count many of them being so-called conservatives too.
Many of the same names that sided with Harry Reid here also slammed conservatives as evil ‘purists’ for sticking to principle in the last election. As if that is a bad thing.
It ain’t their first rodeo. Some? Sure some jumped the gun with no ulterior motive. But there is a significant number of people in this who are either leftist/RINO plants or just do not believe in anything but Govt supremacy. And are willing to adopt Saul’s rules verbatim to move their agenda ahead.
