McALESTER, Okla. – A botched execution that used a new drug combination left an Oklahoma inmate writhing and clenching his teeth on the gurney Tuesday, leading prison officials to halt the proceedings before the inmate's eventual death from a heart attack.

It is nearly impossible to mess up a chemical execution. We have drugs that put you to sleep instantly, anyone who has ever had surgery knows that. Once asleep how hard can t be, we cut people open and they never feel a thing and they can let them die anytime they want.

A four-time felon, Lockett was convicted of shooting 19-year-old Stephanie Neiman with a sawed-off shotgun and watching as two accomplices buried her alive in rural Kay County in 1999 after Neiman and a friend arrived at a home the men were robbing.

I think medical executions are horrible - malpractice and torture rolled into one 20-minute long drama.

And I’m pro-death penalty. I would pull the trigger or drop the blade in a heartbeat - but I would never start an IV or prescribe a medication for the purpose.

Condemned passes out painlessly

You go in for a colonoscopy, the guy touches the IV and you can’t count to 5 before you are out cold enough form them to slit your throat. Politically correct executions are a joke!!!!

I've had surgery and when they start the drip and *BOOM* I'm out. Don't know a thing until I wake up.

And he wouldn't know a thing until he woke up in hell.

That said, he didn't suffer a fraction of what he put his victim through. Where are the bleeding hearts moaning about HER?
