Monica Lewinskys Vanity Fair article reluctantly plunges us straight back into the frothing world of 90s gossip. It may be painful but it answers so many questions about todays media.
The Monica Lewinsky confessional in Vanity Fair brings back a torrent of unfond memories of the appalling cast of tabloid gargoyles who drove the scandal. Remember them? Treacherous thatched-roof-haired drag-queen Linda Tripp, with those dress-for-success shoulder pads? Cackling, fact-lacking hack Lucianne Goldberg, mealy-mouthed Pharisee Kenneth Starrthe whole buzzing swarm of legal, congressional and gossip industry flesh flies, feasting on the entrails. And, of course, hitting send on each new revelation that no one else would publish, the solitary, perfectly named Matt Drudge, operating in pallid obsession out of his sock-like apartment in Miami.
A once-in-a-lifetime cast! Or so we all thought. But what we didnt know at the time is that they were not some passing cultural excrescence. They were the face of the future. The things that shocked us thenthe illicitly taped conversations, the wholesale violations of elementary privacy, the globally broadcast sexual embarrassments, all the low-life disseminated maliceis now the communications industry as it operates every minute of every day.

Tina Brown is unhinged, pls read the comments.
Surprisingly the members at TheDailyBeast.com are not buying her BS and call her out!
What nobody ever talks about, is that the Washington Post and Newsweek had the Lewinsky story, but had been sitting on it for months!! I can only assume that they decided not to go with the story because it would damage a good Democrat president, Bill Clinton.
So, Drudge exposed the story, which the MSM was refusing to do, for their own reasons.
One has to believe that, if the MSM had a story about a Republican president and an affair, that they would have gone with the story as soon as they found out about it.
Tina Brown is like a failed NFL coach...she leaves destruction at every job, and yet keeps getting hired by seemingly clueless new employers....
Crimea?
Tina is sensing her imminent firing over the utter failure of Newsweek and is reaching for something, anything, to preserve her highly-paid tenure.
Nobody could care less about Monica. Dude, that was 15 years ago!
For the record. Clinton sexually harassed an intern. He used the power of his office to obtain favors from an underling.
If a male supervisor says to a female employee: “What a nice dress you have” he can be accused of harassment. There is no defense for the accusation. The male is always guilty.
Double standard.
The comments at the beast are destroying Tina!
Goodness, the editor-in-chief of Tatler magazine rants about scandalous media coverage...
There, fixed it.
How Tina lost $100 Million at Newsweek after losing $50 Million at Talk and $10 Million/year at The Daily Beast: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/05/tina-brown-how-to-lose-100-million-105907.html#.U20XnIFdUyM
Yeah. It reminds Tina of a time before she spent a fortune on three failed media projects and became the laughing stock of the publishing industry.
Top to bottom, the whole thing is a pile of BS.
Laying aside the fact that the point of the Lewinsky scandal was not about sex but the attempted violation by the president of the right of citizen Paula Jones to have her day in court, Monica's "confessional" stinks to high heaven. If you listen to her carefully, Monica's statement is tailor-made to put Hillary! in the best possible light; this nonsense about how she blames herself will only work on those who weren't paying attention at the time. Come on! She was running the bimbo eruptions!! The whole Clinton "marriage" was a sham from the beginning.
One very intriguing thing no one has analyzed is that for the last few years, Monica Lewinsky has been working on a degree from the London School of Economics. Who does that remind you of? That's right; that's the Alma Matter of...wait for it...George Soros!
At this point, I'd be content with one ninth of what Monica's getting to sell this manure.
Wasn’t broken....
Tina forgets who the slug is that pushed for and implemented the Federal Sexual Harassment guidelines for Federal employees and forced them all to go thru training...
Billy Jeff Buttafuco....
Then let’s say, re-adapted.
What I find amazing is that anyone who saw a byline listing Tina Brown as author read the article.
Her breast size is larger than her IQ.
