Mark Twain Denounced as Thought Criminal

To build a utopian America where everything is perfect as defined by our wise liberal ruling class, first the old America must be eradicated. That means erasing the heritage that makes the country what it is. National treasures like Mark Twain have to go:

An effort to name a Lake Tahoe cove after American literary icon Mark Twain has been scuttled for the second time in three years, citing opposition from a tribe that says the writer held racist views of Native Americans.

It should be noted that most everyone who lived in the 19th century held views of Indians that would be regarded as “racist” according to modern liberal ideology. It should also be noted that one reason Twain’s writing was more interesting than the P.C. pabulum excreted today is that he took an irreverent tone toward everyone, having no way of knowing that one day it would be a thought crime to poke fun at any group revered as victims.

The Nevada State Board on Geographic Names this week voted to indefinitely table the request after hearing opposition from the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, whose ancestral homeland includes Lake Tahoe. Darrel Cruz, head of the tribe’s cultural resource department, said the late author did not deserve to have a scenic cove on the lake’s northeast shore named for Samuel Clemens, Twain’s real name.

With all due respect to Mr. Cruz, why is up to him what we name lakes? I thought we won the Indian Wars. Otherwise, we would be sleeping on the ground in teepees and dying of old age at 32.

But of course, it isn’t Indians suppressing our culture and deleting our heritage. It is cultural Marxists, who use people like Cruz the same way they exploit blacks, gays, et cetera. Before they are finished with their fundamental transformation, no one will remember that Mark Twain ever lived.

Well thank the Lord that no Indians whatsoever have ever held any racist views! But hey what am I thinking, by definition that would be impossible because they’re NOT WHITE!

Mark Twain (Sam Clements) will survive the test of time. Darrel Cruz won't even be a footnote.

The little, freeloader piggies who have never even read Twain, BECAUSE THEY CAN’T, want him to go, huh?

One of the goals of Marxism is to destroy history itself, for several eminently logical reasons. The Soviets would constantly change the history books, depending on who was in or out of favor. This is also one of the themes of the book “1984”, which has never been more relevant. (Re-) read it while you still can.

I’m starting to believe that the only thing holding back a very dismal future is the Internet.

This, of course, is being addressed.

You are aware that zeros cronies have been inserting his name throughout the history of America.

The especially galling thing about this, is that according to his autobiography/memoirs, he held many extremely liberal views in his time that he felt that he could not make public for 100 years, which is why the book was published only very recently. Little did he know that the liberals whom he was counting on for understanding now want to suppress his work - a lesson to be learned here, certainly.

Twain mentions Lake Tahoe in “Roughing It”. He and a friend built a campfire that got out of control and started a forest fire.

You think our future depends on ‘the internet’? really? Many of us could go back to life without computers, cell phones, and without constant interruptions...maybe some adjustment needed.

Yes, I like FR and a few places, but most of it is still a dangerous place for identity theft and loss of information. I stay off of FR in years without an election for months at a time....even a year.

“You think our future depends on ‘the internet’? really? Many of us could go back to life without computers, cell phones, and without constant interruptions...maybe some adjustment needed.”

It’s like a tool; it can be used for good and bad purposes. There is no question that I have lived better and done things that I would not have believed possible for me to ever do, and a lot of that capability was acquired for free.

There can be no argument, that it has made more information available to everyone. Can you imagine what the politics of NOW would be like without it? Where would you get your news from? ABC, NBC, CBS, Time, or Newsweek?

What would you use for hard data? Lamestream Media?

True...but I see all of that coming to an end with internet goals of restricting free speech, and the left fully intends to let the global government control this medium.

I find all these changes line up with scriptural projections, so not surprised. Did anyone ever realize how quickly our country would change after 9/11? No, I think some still haven’t figured it out. ‘The Ostrich, with it’s head in the sand syndrome’ still exists for many with all our connection to knowledge via internet.

Sure we (FRs) all have researched and learned a lot, said a lot, and kept up with politics. Some people have reconnected with old friends and made new ones...and some things have been disasters, all in all good and bad purposes accomplished.

‘hard data’....I get my most important news outside of the lamestream media, and not all of it comes from the internet or even fox news. There are other methods....

and here I thought that you were a young floozy running around with a new sailor boyfriend who didn’t want you to share your time on FR. Wow. Never have I been so wrong!

ROFL....

“young floozy running around with a new sailor boyfriend”

I should be so lucky (sarc)...No I’m an older female who has wised up over the years. Yes, I was USNR for years, and dated a few sailors in my time, and also a former Army National Guard for one tour. All Honorable Discharges.

A ‘floozy’??? I wonder what that really means? I should hope not, it doesn’t sound good.

We won’t discuss what floozy really means. LOL I’m glad you’re back.
