Posted on 06/13/2014 11:21:37 PM PDT by John Semmens
The recent military success of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)they have taken several northern cities in Iraq and are said to be advancing on Baghdadhas the White House in a tizzy. In 2011 President Obama declared Iraq had been cleared of Islamic extremists, that theyd been decimated and were on the run.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest insisted that the administration is not accepting responsibility for these events. As the president has pointed out, Iraq was broken when he took office. The responsibility for that lies with his predecessor.
Earnest contended that steps the President has recently taken provide some ray of hope for a positive outcome. His release of detainees from Guantanamo shouldve earned us a reservoir of good will with the Islamic community in general and its terror arm in specific. So, we have that going for us.
A second ray of hope cited by Earnest was the intervention of Iranian troops, which he argued should stabilize the region. You dont see terror attacks occurring in Iran. We need to ask ourselves why this is the case. What is their secret for averting this type of threat?
In Earnests view the positive role now being played by Iran also refutes those who say weve gone too easy on them. Maybe allowing Iran to join the nuclear club wont be so bad after all. While the ISIL might doubt Americas willingness to unleash a nuclear strike on them, Iran might be perceived as having more fortitude in this regard.
And lets not forget the presidents masterful deployment of drone strikes, Earnest added, almost as an afterthought. As he has humbly acknowledged, hes very good at killing people with this technology. These terrorists must realize that no matter how many cities they take, no matter how many men they murder or women they rape, a drone can find them and strike them down at any time the President chooses.

ARM THE KURDS!!!
Let me see? Drone strikes or no drone strikes... No I am going on vacation!!!
When seconds matter, the police are minutes away. When hours matter, Odumbo is days away.
We’re funding and training the Iraqi’s.
We’re funding and training ISIS.
You can’t get enough of a good thing. Could we possibly fund and train a third group...some real far out exotic insurgents with some panash? The Dutch maybe? As always, price is not limit.
Actually, he is facing a few tough decisions this weekend. Which driver should he tee off with? The wedge or the 9 iron? Decisions, decisions.
this f-ing worthless hosebag poser of a president is not responsible for anything that is bad on any subject.
All bush’s fault?
What an ass this obammy is.
Mulling...community organizer strategy session?
The only thing the Current WH can "Mull" is the next time it has to go to the toilet...and it needs pre-printed instruction even for that.
I would say that the White House has no choice but to ‘mull’ options since the White House is always behind the curve but what is happening in the Mid East may be exactly what the White House wants.
Option A. Play Golf
Option B. Play Basketball
Option C. Watch Sports
Option D. Vacation to Hawaii

Yeh like an 8:00 or 9:00 tee time.
Callaway or Taylor Made?
Life is hard!
Maybe if we fund the Democrats they will start shooting each other? I mean like in the foot of course, politically speaking of course.
Our country is at a crossroad, Obama declared. Will we continue to go forward toward a future of government-funded leisure for all? Or will the reactionaries of the GOP be permitted to drag us backward toward a lifestyle where everyone is dependent upon his or her own efforts?
Semmens clarifies the essence of the speech (and speaker), n'est ce pas?
Another fine/scary column, John!
As with all things Obama, it will always be a lose lose situation for the USA.
Thank you for the ping.
