I can't stop thinking about those poor men left dead on the road to Bahgdad. I can't sleep.

I can't sleep, because I have seared visions of all those poor, loyal Iraqi soldiers rounded up, handcuffed with terror in their eyes and forced to speak in a video while cowards in machine guns watch. These poor men, wondering, expecting that eventually someone will rescue them, and they'll be home.

I see some who are obviously veteran soldiers, probably who have engaged in many battles over the years, who were trained by our soldiers, fought besides us and with whom they still have warm friendships.

I can't sleep, because I keep seeing them on their knees, then murdered one by one, tumbling forward like bear cubs.

What kind of people are we that we sit back and do nothing for people with whom our soldiers fought and maybe died with?

What advice is our military giving our president? I'm not in the military, but I see these AlQaida cowards, driving brazenly down a single road in broad daylight, and I wonder...why don't we mow them down with our jets? With our drones? This would send a message to those Iraqi soldiers that we're with you.

Why don't we kill these cowards, then use what ever diplomacy you wish afterwards, but let's start with a clear message.

I feel sick. This is not the America I've known.

Say what you wish about Malaki and anyone else there in power in Iraq, but these people asked for our help, and we don't help?

This is bad people. Very bad.

What kind of people are we?

Don’t worry your time is coming, the leader of ISIS when he was transferred from the prison where we were holding him to the custody of the govt. In Baghdad,he told the commander, who was from the guard group from New York,I will see you in New York.
They are coming, all they have to do is pick up a woman and some kids and come across the southern border, get ready

The Iraqis were given plenty of time, training and equipment to defend themselves. They now have chosen to surrender. The consequences are on them. When you refuse to fight the barbarians you end up in pickup truck surrounded by masked guys in a propaganda video or dead on the side of the road. Hopefully it will motivate others to resist more strongly.

I do not lie awake at night worrying about the Iraqis, I worry about the totalitarians at home and how quickly our society and value system has crumbled. I used to think that soviet style repression could never happen in America. That illusion has vanished completely.

It’s a double-edged sword and nobody has the courage to risk the cuts. To stop it would take the courage to wreak true devastation upon those who perpetrate it and with utter disregard to the collateral damage (at least for the first movements). It takes a firm belief in the God who created us to be able to take such actions and then live with yourself afterwards. We lost the trust in God, and the courage to wreak what must be wreaked, sometime between the end off WWII and Korea.

When he explodes in New York, we will discover later that he was the one person for whom the ObamaCare exchanges worked.

Maliki needs to go. Then we’ll be more inclined to do something. We’ve made this clear to them. Maliki is not a poker player. He believed the Shia could handle everything themselves. They still may be able to but if he continues to exlude the Sunnis -which is the problem, he will be facing 2 million ISIS rather than 10,000.

Time is of the essence.

I had the misfortune of watching a video of these monsters dancing on the wounded bodies of men they had tied up, lain face down on the ground and unmercifully machine gunned all while shouting how great their god is and continuing to pump AK 47 fire into their backs.

I will NEVER get that image of savagery out of my head...

I saw some pictures that were even worse than that yesterday posted by a friend on FB. I don’t think they were from Iraq, probably Syria. Same animals, though. Just when you think they can’t get any worse, they manage to one-up themselves.

For years I tried to help children in school to understand the truth about life and living and almost no one came to my defense as administration after administration gave me hell. Parents should have risen up and demanded that Superintendents and Principals involved should have been terminated for what they said to me and especially for asking me to leave and no one lifted a finger. Cry me a river.

This country is getting what it deserves because almost no one will do anything about the wrongs. My father correctly said, "People get the kind of government they deserve."

As for whatever criticism anyone wants to level at me for saying that, frankly dear...

Do you know if the ISIS bunch is formed/offshoot from the same group that started the Iraqi uprising in Iraq in 2004?

That would be the group led by Zarqawi(SP?) that cut Nick Bergs head.

Because we're all warred out. We left the Iraqis with the training and the tools to defend themselves. We left them with the government of their own choosing. That government chose to exclude the Sunni Muslims from any power and alienated them. Now they're paying for their own stupidity and want us to run in and pour money and troops into their country - again - to fund and die for their pitiful country. Sorry, not interested. They can fight for their own country. And if they want to be just as brutal to the Sunni as they have been to the Shia then I wouldn't shed a single tear.

You may not be interested in Islam, but Islam is interested in subjugating you. That is why the current trend of liberals in government to cozy up to Muslims is doubly dangerous.

ISIS Video: We Will Conquer Jerusalem, We Will Conquer Rome; Hostility And Hatred Until You Believe In Allah Alone

We have spoken about reports of this video in prior posts, but now have the full video. This is exceedingly graphic, it is important window to show what these people are about. They threaten Jerusalem. They threaten Rome and say they will reclaim Andalusia (Moorish Spain). In their own words, their purpose is to “come to you with slaughter” if you do not believe in Allah. If this government doesn’t understand what this is, hear now and see, or regret it later.

Going into this, many observed that creating an American style representative republic was a long shot at best.

The shared values necessary just do not seem to exist there. Freedom is a universal human desire. But, tolerance and respect is not.

Christianity is based on love. Islam is based on submission.

While I do not condone the mass beheadings and killings and seeing such images completely disgusts me, I can only think that Muslims have a culture that is antithetical to ours and the west. They have a fundamental belief system that is completely different. I am not saying Muslims don't have feelings, for instance, a Muslim mother would cry in sorrow over her child's natural death. However, the same Muslim mother would send her child to be a suicide bomber and later cry in sorrow over her child's death.

Muslims are not prepared, because of their belief system, to live in what we consider the modern world. Our notions of freedom, liberty and democracy are not comprehendible to Muslims due to their belief system. They will fight for revenge, oppression and evil, but they will not fight and spill their own blood for their own freedom.

This fact alone means that US policy for Muslim nations should be one of destruction when our interests are threatened or attacked and that of containment otherwise.

In the case of current day Iraq our interests are threatened. It is a result of policy of wasting our national treasure on rebuilding an unready nation and more recently a policy disengagement and near surrender by the current Marxist occupant of the White House.

We should have a military presence in Iraq. One to contain situations like these, but also to project power in the region to protect our interests. We need not meddle in Iraqi's everyday lives, feel sorry for them, or try to make them into Westerners. We should however control them to the point that our interests are protected and are successful.
