One of the greats. Facebook has a huge page devoted to this wonderful movie. It’s constantly being shown in Cinerama in Los Angeles.
“What is this? A staring contest?”
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched it... lol
What a cast
A Barrie Chase movie with Spencer Tracy and an assortment of other actors and actresses.
Men go crazy over Barrie Chase. Absolutely crazy. Stanley Kramer directed this classic with a great script by William Rose. I own a copy of the original script - which is twice as long.
Wild movie. Has a huge cult following as well. Right now fans are saving what’s left of the Big W - just stumps now. A fan was given permission to dig them out. He took it to his garage and is now doling out splinters of it to other fans. Not joking!
Jonathan Winter sees it first, I think.
Great movie, many scenes filmed in Long Beach, CA. I was just thinking of replacing my loaned-out-and-lost copy to show my grandkids, I think they would enjoy it!
Right you are.
Did the Clinton’s remove these trees at the same time they removed the “W”s from the White House keyboards?
A place called PV or Palos Verdes IIRC.
I hate to ask but what movie is that from? The title escapes me...
Forgot to add duh! ;)
I think it was Dorthy Provine who saw it first.
Yes. Hillary having no sense of humor, and disgusted with the treatment of the Ethel Merman character, secretly, along with Huma, uprooted these trees in the middle of the night. They then performed a Wicca Dance while Secret Service men stood by.
You may very well be right about that!
She wanted to run away to a convent.
She was about to tell Spencer Tracy what she knew when Johnathan Winters (chasing Phil Silvers) ran under the Big W and stopped - threw his hands up and turned around and yelled “THATS IT......THE BIG W” LOL
I loved this movie and there will never be another like it.
i lived in PV for a few years and never knew!!!
Where exactly was the W... I thought somewhere by Malibu-SM
I think PV drive north but its been 30 years since I lived there.I actually lived in rolling hills and my girl friend lived in PV.I remember that right behind the big W was the cliffs and then the ocean.
One of the great ones!
