It’s “Warren” not “Warring” G. Harding

Nice pic...but we can all thank Doris Day (whom Reagan dated, and remained life long friends with) for encouraging him to get into politics.

My favorite, the long line of Herrenvolk surrendering to the Untermensch.

A midair collision with hundreds dead is “amusing”? I don’t think so.

I guess that’s when he thought he was a Dem.

I like Doris in movies and singing but she’s become such a stooge for animal “rights” that i have to believe she’s leftist.

I hope the mother and son watching above ground atomic testing through their living room window were upwind.

Doris Day was lifelong friends with both Ronald Reagan and Rock Hudson.

Proving how much us right-wingers REALLY REALLY HATE gay people, eh?

Reganite Republican, I don't mean to hijack your fine thread, but a remark that Doris Day, like Reagan was a Demorat and 'such a stooge for animal “rights” that i have to believe she’s leftist' needs to be addressed.

Doris, like Reagan switched over to Republican and has been a staunch Republican ever since. She has consistently supported Republican presidential candidates and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George Bush.

When Doris left the Hollywood spotlight years ago, she never looked back. Rather, she moved forward in her second career with the same enthusiasm and energy that put her at the top of the entertainment profession. This time her focus would be on her true passion, the welfare of animals- like her film peers, Bridget Bardot and Kim Novak.

1

She worked tirelessly, rescuing, healing and placing literally thousands of abused or neglected animals. When she joined the grassroots organization "Actors and Others for Animals" in the ‘70s, she literally went door to door to rescue pets in distress. She then started her own organization, the Doris Day Animal League, and later the Doris Day Animal Foundation. The League became a lobbying group on behalf of animal rights, and is now a part of the Humane Society of the United States. Doris had no idea it would grow into one of the largest animal welfare organizations in the world. The Doris Day Animal Foundation, a hands-on animal welfare charity, continues to operate under Doris' guidance.

Doris has always had a passionate love of animals and an innate connection with them. Animals relate to her almost instantly and sense her recognition of their gentle souls.

Like Bardot, Doris has not neglected to support her political beliefs.

Bardot has been fined, sued and even jailed for daring to speak out against Muslims taking over France.

Doris Day is a class act- an American treasure, an icon the likes we shall never see again.

See my tribute to Doris on her 90th birthday.

Amazing facts about this wonderful, classy lady:

Doris stated in her books that she never knew Hudson was gay until it came out when he died of AIDES.

I believe her. Those days were far more innocent than today, Doris was know for being naïve, and opposed to any kind of perversion. She would not even allow filthy language on her sets and kept a ‘cuss box’ where anyone she heard use a curse word had to put in a dollar.

That, and the fact that Hudson and his handlers kept it under wraps so well..
I believe her.

Oh she is indeed a real lady. And a superb talent.

I just get suspicious whenever anyone goes overboard for animals. And if it’s associated with HSUS - watch it. Not the best freedom-loving org.

I love animals too, but I don’t go out supporting HSUS or PETA or anything like that. They are communist fronts. I hope she hasn’t, either. (This might be said for Betty White, too. Love her, but always wary of the “animal” thing. Partly from my own personal experiences.)

In the good ol’days things were kept under wraps, if possible. No need to have people know all about stuff that was untoward.

Of course, now it is celebrated - anything goes, and they can murder someone and still have it ignored while being praised to the heavens by Tom Dick & Harry jackass fools on the street.

Back when, you were denounced by EveryMan, not “forgiven”.

Thank you. I just tend to get bent out of shape when one of the few true patriots and real ladies of Hollywood get attacked for using their retirement to do good in the world- like helping animals who are abused, cannot speak and depend on us for help.
