I can still communicate via Amateur Radio. I’ve been doing it for 57 years.

Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s my dad always had CBs. Lots of folks did. About 2 years ago, I bought one, a Uniden 688. I love it! I’m typically the only non-trucker on the road with a radio. It has been fun and I encourage you to get one. Next, I’d like to get a HAM.

Be bored. I suppose I would have to rely on reading books.

CB radios have very limited range to begin with, and fixed channel frequency coverage, so all it will take is a powerful jammer to render them useless over any distance greater than shouting. Dumb plan.

A very long time ago the function was carried out by Committees of Correspondence. I am embarrassed to admit how long it took me to figure out why they were necessary and what, exactly, they corresponded about. Place a ham radio in that format and I think we have a viable model.

"The CB Patriot Project is the place to join patriots from around America who have already joined the project to assure we can still communicate and congregate - just as we did in 2008 when the tea parties began to rise up."
Sister Mary Moses of The Burning Bush (All Lit Up) wants you to come to class tomorrow prepared to diagram that "sentence."

If the both the network and phones go down, I think I’ll take some time off and just enjoy the peace and quiet. Neaten up the garden. Get the pantry better organized. You know, do all the stuff I never seem to have time for when the work week is in the way.
If I get bored, I can always warmup the shortwave and listen to those old-timer hams in N. Carolina talking about their ailments and the best way to dig a pond (last I heard, the consensus was to pen some hogs in it. Somehow, they make it hold water better...)
