Honduran mom, state rep. describe condition inside federal holding facility
Valley Central ^ | June 21,2014 | Valeria Aponte

Posted on 06/22/2014 10:52:49 AM PDT by moonshinner_09

Due to the fact that media is not allowed inside the McAllen border patrol station, Action 4 News has learned what it's like from those who have been inside.

Maria and her 10-year-old son were just one of thousands of families that have been forced to stay in crowded rooms without leaving for days.

It took them 22 days to travel from their home in Honduras to the US before they were caught by Border Patrol agents just minutes after crossing the Rio Grande in a raft.

“He took everything from us, and he screamed at us and he told us to give him everything,” Maria said in Spanish. “He took our shoe laces, lotions, clothes, sweater and it was really cold. He just left us with the shirt we were wearing and the rest he threw away."

Maria never expected this to be her welcome to the US.

Maria and her son left their home in Honduras and embarked on a dangerous journey through Central America and Mexico.

She faced armed police along the way whom only let her pass if she paid 200 pesos ($15.40).

This happened to her eight times throughout her journey.

One time, Maria was also forced to hide her son so they wouldn't take him from her.

Maria thought the worst was over but she had a rude awakening when she and her son arrived in the Promise Land.

They were locked-up in a holding pod with over 100 other immigrants.

“We were there for days with the same clothes, without brushing our teeth or showering,” Maria said. “We all went to the same bathroom where there wasn't even a curtain. We would go to the bathroom and everyone would see."

The conditions were so bad that Maria's son passed out.

“Maria never expected this to be her welcome to the US.”

Right. She expected to be handed an Obama card and turned loose.

I bet she doesn't realize she broke the law. We have got to win the conversation on this issue, or we will feel the pain of the Romans.

Welcome to our latitudes of hell on earth, courtesy of Obama and his progressives trying to fundamentally reinvent the place you thought America was.

Too late. Now you are just Soylent political ingredients.

I don’t believe her. But we should make sure this story is translated into Spanish and airdropped on flyers throughout Central America.

Just like telling libs I know in CA about how hot, dangerous, poisonous, and miserable it is in Texas. Helps keep them out!

>>Although it’s a journey she doesn’t ever want to repeat, Maria doesn’t regret coming here knowing she will now be able to provide for the family she left back in Honduras.

Maria tells Action 4 News the money she makes here in the US will be sent to her 75-year-old mother back in Honduras who suffers from numerous illnesses.

Maria doesn’t know how long she will stay in America but hopes it’s long enough for her son to learn English.<<

If they are being treated as badly as this ho says she is being treated, why the hell doesn't she go home where she had it made? This is the kind of crap this new "protected species" is going to be pulling if they are not treated like the royalty that they are. LET THE LAWSUITS AND WHINING ABOUT DISCRIMINATIN BEGIN!! Americans need to adjust their attitudes about these people and start treating them like royalty. After all, they came a long way to come here to invade our country and bless America with their presence. THEY, not Americans, are the future of America!

Extreme sarcasm/off

Is this a typo? I know it should be 'Promised Land', but maybe they are referring to 'Promise Land' as in "Come here and vote democrat and we promise you a land overflowing with EBT, WIC, SSDI, unemployment, Section 8, Obamaphones, Obamacare..."

“We were there for days with the same clothes, without brushing our teeth or showering,” Maria said.

Is this to imply that along the way they had a change of clothes, brushed their teeth every day and showered, too?

I think this article is fodder for the libs to use to force obammy to write another EO freeing these "poor people from the oppression we are inflicting on them". No mention, of course, about the harm inflicted on us as a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Someone please tell me what the problem is with going through regular channels, you know, like applying for legal immigration status before leaving your home country.

I don’t know why we allow so much money made here to be wired back to foreign countries via Western Union. Billions of dollars leave our country. We should generate revenue by taking on a “wire fee” for every transaction. We get charged for 911 and so many other fee’s on our utility bills, why not a wire fee?

So tell me why you broke my laws and invaded my country, Maria.

Lemme guess - because your country is a sh!thole because cowardly traitors like you flee it in its time of need, rather than doing your duty and fighting to improve conditions there - like WE did here over generations of struggle?

Is that why, Maria?

One key solution: Crack down on immigrants using freight trains going from Latin America through Mexico.

1. you can see pictures and video of the overcrowded trains on the news show.

2. The Unite States could work with these train companies to make sure that immigrants don't board them for a free trip to the Mexico-US border.

3. Pay for train guards: The United States could pay for private guards, say for ten years, to keep immigrants off of the trains.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

“I just don’t believe her.”

It may all be true re: paying people in Mexico to get thru and the current conditions in these refugee centers. Or it could be a publicity stunt to get soft hearted American sympathy.

I do feel sorry for some of these people. The ones with little kids. I have no idea what kind of malarkey they have been told or by whom. But if conditions are so horrid in your home you really should be grateful for a roof over your head and a meal of any kind, no matter what the conditions are. No country is obligated to do ANY of that. Or maybe you should have stopped in Mexico./s At least you would speak the same language. But it would be difficult to send money back home for your ailing mother from Mexico.

The adolescent lawbreakers I have no sympathy for at all. That is drug cartel backed, imho.

Hillary Clinton has it worse than this "mom"...

Michael Moore’s butler was talking to John Kerry’s up-stairs maids about what the Clintons personal chef said. And the gossip is this... the Clinton’s don’t pay their pool boy as much as the other families... very hush hush stuff... so maybe money is a tight for Hillary.

This Honduran Mom has nothing on Hillary Clinton...
