All the German Army/Luftwaffe/SS principal actors were Jewish, including “Major” (actually SS-Sturmbannführer) Hochstetter.

Klemperer’s father was Jewish but converted to Catholicism then back to Judaism but I’m not sure where Werner Klemperer settled.

A pupusa (Spanish pronunciation: [puˈpusa], from Pipil pupusaw) is a traditional Salvadoran dish made of a thick, handmade corn tortilla (made using masa de maíz, a cornmeal dough used in Latin American cuisine) that is usually filled with a blend of the following: cheese (queso) (usually a soft cheese called Quesillo found throughout Central America) cooked pork meat ground to a paste consistency (called chicharrón, not to be confused with fried pork rind, which is also known as chicharrón in some other countries) refried beans (frijoles refritos), or queso con loroco (loroco is a vine flower bud from Central America). The two most common pupusas are the pupusa de queso (cheese) and more popular pupusa revuelta with mixed ingredients of cheese, beans,[1] and chicharrón. Pupusas are typically served with curtido (lightly fermented cabbage slaw with red chilies and vinegar) and a watery tomato salsa. Pupusas are similar to the South American arepa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pupusa

Impressive but not even close to what we did living rough on deployments. Of course we had the luxury of cooking over burning C-4.

I ate at Army dining halls in Germany, and at prison dining halls in California. Prison food is MUCH, MUCH better.

JP-4 worked just fine in a can of sand for me...You could regulate the heat by the amount of air u let in...Its funny looking back...between C's and the native wildlife we had some great barbeque's!

I go to a Salvadorian restaurant often for lunch. Your description is accurate. The only thing that was left out is they are wrapped in what they call a banana leaf. Very difficult to remove.

I always ask the waiter to take the wrapping off. I’m such a “pupusa challenged” kind of person. :) But they are very good.

There is a Canadian guy that goes by the name "The Drunk Chef" with a youtube channel that does amongst more high end dishes,, "jail food" like fried balogna and peas, or the jail burrito made of fritos, cheetos, ramen, summer sausage and cheese.

One of the videos is HILARIOUS as it shows him progressing through the process of the dish taking beer and bong hit breaks... but I think youtube yanked it.

This video is not family friendly, but is a good dry rub for crock pot pork shoulder recipie that I have used. The guy actually reminds me of Ricky Julian and Bubbles because of the wacky Canadian accent.

“Major” (actually SS-Sturmbannführer) Hochstetter.

I always laughed, when he said, "who is this man?"

I have a friend that committed felonious stupidity. Fortunately for him he isn’t a picky eater. He writes me and food is a very big subject and item of priority. If I didn’t die of fear...I would die of starvation.

In prison or the Army. :)

In prison or the Army. :)

I can only speak for the places I ate at. I do not know about other states, but California prison food is definitely better than the Army dining halls I went to in Wiesbaden.

Regards.

General der Infantrie Burkhalter “Shut up, Klink!”

Or you will get a one way ticket to the eastern front.
