US Border Patrol Restricts Media Access at Mexican Border
Breitbart via Gateway Pundit ^ | June 22, 2014 | Rachel Pulaski

The Obama Administration apparently doesn’t approve of Freedom of the Press.

Historically, U.S. journalists have reported all over the world during wars and conflict. Our brave journalists were at the front lines in Afghanistan and Iraq reporting but according to federal agents the border is not safe enough to report from.

Journalists are being told to leave the Anzalduas International Bridge which connects the city of Mission, Texas, with Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. This area has always been open to media to report on illegal crossings from Central America.

There are alot of implications to this story. First, how the Obamunists treat the press as simply hired hands carrying out the adminstration's propaganda.

Second, the House GOP should jump on this with a resolution calling for access to these internment camps for the press so that the press can carry out their constitutional role in helping to inform the sovereigns of this country, the People (remember them?) what their government is doing.

This is a slam dunk for the House GOP, if their leadership would stop obsessing about the Tea Party and do their jobs, gee whiz, maybe they wouldn't have to worry about re-election or elections, because they would have the support of their constituents. Nooooo, they are too stoooopid to think of that and the Tea Party are those icky people with guns and Bibles and pocket Constitutions.

What the hell? Foreigners are free to come and go as they please but the American media cannot have access to the border? I think the boys down at the Border Patrol have been breathing in too many sh*tty diapers.

In accordance with our Constitution, dictators are allowed to curb the freedom of speech any time they want. Congress may not do so — but Obama? All hail the emperor!

I said the very same to the office of the Texas Governor this morning— that we’ve had embedded media with soldiers in the field since WW II, but a seige INVASION on our own soil is a news media BLACKOUT. It’s preposterous. Shocking that Texans tolerate it and US congress and senate yak about one border, the Iraq and Iran border.

Geeez. Is anybody, in office, listening? Do Americans really care?

Wasn’t there a restriction on reporters on the affected shores after the BP spill?

Wow. Did you get any response from the Governor's Office?

You ask if Americans care, I believe we do. If not, it's the job of the politician to bring this news to Americans and inspire them to care. That's my beef with the (elected)GOP. Most of them seem to care only about their re-election and their own career. They seem to believe that avoiding all controversy is the way to protect themselves. The way to avoid all controversy is never to say anything and stay in the corner in the fetal position.

Look how grassroots activists have made Common Core into a poison pill. If you want to avoid defeat, you NOW must come out against Common Core. Gov. Bobby Jindal has just removed Common Core from Louisiana and looks to have jumped in with both feet to use Common Core as one basis for a potential Presidential campaign.

That's how's it done, light a fire under their butts.

Using the exclusion of the Press puts us on the right side of the 1st Amendment and Free Speech and busts the perceptions of the low information voters about conservatives. Two, it attacks the press for being so bias and so in the tank for Obama, that they aren't covering this major story about the conditions little brown children are living in courtesy of the caring compassionate Obama Administration. Three, it has a chance of getting results.

Yes, I got a response from the TX Governr’ office.

It went like this verbatim: “..the governor is being briefed by the federal government of the activity at border.” The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT informs the sittng governor of TEXAS! In the absence of any media, with border patrol agents under threat by feds, if they speak to, or allow, a reporter anywhere near the action.

My opinion:
Truly? On this issue,... without media coverage and support, a BLACKOUT in progress, the Governor would have to decide to go to jail first, himself, before he dared to take matters of state rights into his own hands. And the citizen militia, if Perry did decide to be jailed, would be in danger if they were called to arms by Perry, or even if they alone determined on their own to act to protect the border. They might not enjoy jail, they might be shot, or injured by the feds.

State rights are dead, apparently. We need media there.

The Fed Gummint initiated this invasion and is now supervising the invasion.

They have decided that their invasion is best performed sans media coverage.

Their attitude:

“The citizenry periodically selects new leadership, so why cannot the leadership select new citizenry…?”

And that’s what they’re doing now.

Governor Perry knows what is going on.
The DPS (state troopers) are all over the border area and they answer to him. Besides, the media can’t be trusted because they are on baraq’s side in all this.

That is sooo not what the governor’s office told me. They did not mention DPS. Office staffer said Perry is updated by the Feds, reminding that border control are under federal control. Period.

Border patrol are under threat not to speak to a reporter, nor allow one near the activity area. How’s that work for us?

To my knowledge the DPS are in their cars— they are not said to be off the highways. They actually are not said to be on the ground along side border patrol if that’s what one imagines.
We have no numbers of DPS, where they are, nor exactly WTH they are assigned to do different from highway patroling. The militias remain on stand down.

Also, to my knowledge, a federally orchestrated INVASION is being addressed only by federally run border agents beholden to DC, in a federally controlled media BLACKOUT, with a sitting Governor being informed by federal authorities and whatever leaks he can gather by DPS who are not beside the border patrol on the ground, because the area is sealed.

If you have better information to dispute this then I would be glad to hear it. I said to the guv’s office that in a media BLACKOUT we are left in the absence of FACT, with rumors and second hand leaks. Nevermind this is a FIRST since WWII where reporters were embedded, and in every conflict since, on foreign soil, but INVASION on our own soil we get a BLACKOUT on our own border

Pre-friggin’-posterous!

You could reply w/ the TX Constitution

Art 4, Sec. 7. COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF MILITARY FORCES; CALLING FORTH MILITIA.
He shall be Commander-in-Chief of the military forces of the State, except when they are called into actual service of the United States. He shall have power to call forth the militia to execute the laws of the State, to suppress insurrections, and to repel invasions.

Right on, shark. What I did say was that, “this all is starting to look like rhetorical window dressing”.

When I addressed the BLACKOUT, the imposed gag order on border patrol agents, and the barred presence of reporters, I was told, “we don’t want our positions known”. Nevermind that says it all. That excuse tells us that we have not enjoyed any success on the border, because we don’t have anywhere near the numbers needed down there to be confident and open— to be able to confidently shout loud and clear that this thing is “OVER”, or that, “TEXAS has turned back an INVASION and secured its own border”.

Nope. We’re still dancing in the dark because we’re shining daylight on Perry’s bluster but not on any real resistance and meaningful action.

A former border agent has already said we it’s going to take the US military, fully engaged, on our southern border to guarantee our security.

We’re nowhere near doing that, apparently. Thx, shark.

(Bookmarked Art 4.)

The GOP establishment doesn’t need to worry about the Tea Party when they can get liberals and Democrats to cross over and help re-elect the Thad Cochrans of this world in the primaries.

NO OPEN PRIMARIES!
