The American Revolution And Its Constitution Has Been Competely Usurped
Shoebat ^ | 6/30/2014 | Keith Davies

(beginning snipped)

We the People have been defrauded of our freedom by an elected despotism.

This has happened as a result of allowing the Federal government to acquire powers that it has no right to have based on the Founding Fathers intent and the Constitutional document that today is just a historical document that has been usurped by the political class both on the “left” and the so called “right.”

The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending against all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks.
Samuel Adams

We the People need to rebel against the tyranny of the Federal government and restore the constitutional principals as per our founders.

Rebellion should and can be successful without the need for violent uprising as the main cause of the corruption of our system of government is that of money. If we can through civil disobedience and withholding (put in escrow) our taxes in 2014/15 by the at least one million tax payers who would be in the top 5% of earners in this country, the government would not be able to imprison that amount of people and would cause the government to be short of at least a trillion dollars for fiscal 2015. The Federal government would not have the ability to fund government unless the necessary reforms are made to stop the tyranny.
The final straw for the American people have been the abuses of power both by Democrats and Republicans. The IRS scandal has both parties in the hall of shame. The Democrats have clearly abused power by allowing and conspiring with the IRS to target We the People who may have a political contrary view which is a right according to the first amendment, the basic essence of our freedom. The Republicans should hang their heads in shame, as they have not followed up on their obligation as the loyal opposition to fully investigate the IRS. They have deliberately ignored the scandal of Malik Obama and not followed up in a timely manner on the “missing emails.” If it were not for Judicial Watch a non partisan conservative charity, the “missing emails” issue would not have been even in the public forum.

An elective despotism was not the government we fought for; but one in which the powers of government should be so divided and balanced among the several bodies of magistracy as that no one could transcend their legal limits without being effectually checked and restrained by the others.
James Madison No 58, Federalist Papers 1788

The original IRS in itself was an unconstitutional agency set up in 1864 to pay for the Civil war and later in 1894 the IRS was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme court and not until 1913 when Woodrow Wilson was able to get over 75% of the states to ratify a national federal income tax to be collected by the IRS in the enactment of the 16th amendment. 101 years later we have now seen what a major mistake this was. The Federal Income tax has now made us serfs and abused the people by unconstitutional power of the federal government. Let us remember our founders went to war with Great Britain over taxation without representation. The IRS is an unelected body and we have all seen that they have abused their power and acted in a tyrannical fashion egged on by senior Democrat politicians with the Republicans knowingly not offering opposition.

The IRS needs to be abolished (16th amendment) and the taxing authority should be left only to the States with negotiated revenue for federal business by each state or by a new constitutional amendment, which will remove direct taxing of We the People by the Federal Government. Much of the Federal government needs to be made smaller and the States should take on the responsibility for the shortfall in administrative departments that will have been abolished if We the People rise up. This includes the abolishment of the EPA, the Department of Education, the Department of Energy and the Department of Health and Human Services just to name some for an instant axe.

Social security is insolvent if not today then within 5 to 10 years. The money stolen to fund other government programs, mismanaged by the corrupt political class in Washington DC, needs to corrected fast. It is time for We the People to have Social security managed by each state, which is transferable or payable if a retiree moves to a different state. The social security paid in by any worker belongs to that worker and not to the government. The States should only be responsible for social services for its residents and not the Federal government. If income taxes were leveraged only by the states then taxes would be lower for everybody as if some states were to have high taxes many of the top earners would move to other states so the need to have competitive tax rates would be imperative for each states’ economic growth and prosperity. We have already seen this in action as many top earners are fleeing California and heading to Texas. The state of California is an economic basket case; while Texas is thriving, this makes the point.

Washington DC is awash with money. Sadly it is the only large city that is expanding just as is our federal government, the reverse should be the case. Washington is one of the few places where one can make big money as a lobbyist, lawyer or federal bureaucrat. We need to turn Washington DC into a Detroit with thousands of vacant homes and at the same time we need to turn Detroit back to an industrial powerhouse as it once was. When this happens then we will know America is back on track.

We need a new political party simply called “We the People” so that our government serves us the people, and we can return to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The Democrats and Republicans should join forces and be the opposition because they are part of the problem not the solution.

Here are the problems...

1) Money is withheld from paychecks and joe sixpack gets a “refund”... What’s the problem?
2) 50%+ don’t pay taxes... why should they care?
3) The top 5% have lawyers & tax accountants and trusts and ... and... and...
4) Lobbyists “buy” politicians to manipulate tax code in favor of certain corporations and individuals...

Who’s left?

The 2nd American Revolution is rapidly approaching. The political class, if for no other reason than self preservation, had better wise up.... FAST!

We the People are rapidly tiring of the shenanigans in D.C.; and the Tree of Liberty is about to be refreshed with the blood of Tyrants and Patriots.

The IRS scandal has both parties in the hall of shame.

That just might be the crisis Abe told me about. The fault is ours. Abe will explain from "the other side."

You initiated a policy to tolerate the Marxist-Alinsky radicals and let them rant; not only has it not ceased but was constantly augmented by decades of infiltration and indoctrination. You now have two Americas. In my opinion, it will not cease until a crisis shall have been reached and passed. A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently, half statist and half free; I do not expect the house to fall; but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.

The time has come.. from the Chambers to the chamber pot.

We the People are rapidly tiring of the shenanigans in D.C.; and the Tree of Liberty is about to be refreshed with the blood of Tyrants and Patriots.

Our present system has been elected by We the People.

A large sub-set of The People, myself among them, are very unhappy with the choices The People as a whole have made.

Yet the American system I want to conserve is based on the idea of rule of, by and for The People.

How do we rebel against the majority of The People and remain true to the principles of the American Revolution and Constitution? If we were to violently overthrow the existing system in an attempt to reboot the Constitution, is there any reason at all to believe The People would not vote to bring back something resembling our present system of entitlements? If we deny the franchise to some large percentage of The People because they wouldn't vote "right," in what sense is our new government by "consent of the governed?"

What I'm attempting to point out is that one simply cannot rebel against The People in the name of The People.

The only possible solution is to reinvigorate the ideals of the Revolution among The People by cultural activities and education. Unfortunately, the trend in this area has for 50 years been in the opposite direction, and if anything the speed of movement is increasing.

Let’s be brutally honest here. The ideals of governance laid out in the U.S. Constitution simply don’t work for a lot of people — maybe even the vast majority of them. This country was founded by Anglo-Saxon Protestants who fully understood the necessity of order, self-control and personal responsibility in a free nation. Take any one of those three things away, and you’ve got a challenging environment for governance based on the ideals of personal freedom, liberty and limited government. Take all three of them away, and you’ve got a disaster on your hands.

With a GOP majority in the Senate and House this fall, the first order of business should be to impeach Obama. After the likely November blood bath at the pols and Obama increasingly ruling by decree I would think that more than a few Democrats would be voting to remove him from office. A President Biden would be another disaster, but at least the Marxist would no longer be POTUS.

Universal suffrage being held as "consent of the governed."

All the branches of the government are determined to increase their influence. "Checks and balances" is just shorhand for which branch gets to rule that particular issue.

The call for the top earners to rebel is risible! They are the least likely group to rebel. Generally wedded to the idea of "either we obey all the laws, or there is anarchy!"

You have it.

The withholding is particularly insidious. No one really notices how much money they owe, and they “get free money” at the end, much of the time.

I guarantee if people did not automatically have money withheld from their pay, they’d throw a fit when they never get money from the gov but have to cough up $10,000 in one chunk.

Bastard FDR.

Instead of a sweet land of liberty, we’ve morphed into a depraved land of libertines.

I think Heinlein had the right idea in Starship Troopers: Only those who served honorably in the military had the franchise.

Re withholding: I’ve been saying the same thing for years. If people touched the money first, and then had to pay, taxes would be a LOT lower.

While this was instituted under FDR, the genius who came up with the idea was Milton Friedman (of all people), who was a young research economist. It was enacted during WW II, when the government was desperate to raise money. Milton himself said years later that he’d repeal it if he could.

I’d like to know how you intend to travel from Point A - violent resistance, to Point Z - Restoration of Freedom.

What are the intermediate events?

The Framers realized virtue alone in a democratic republic was inadequate to secure the blessings of liberty across a continent. It is why the constitution of 1787 divided power among the people, the states, and the federal government they created.

Yes, but We the People are too lazy to educate themselves on the candidates much less take a stand to stop the corruption and the organized destruction of the nation.

Agree.

Just don’t see any way to fix the situation in a way that, A. preserves the American ideal of self-rule by the people, and, B. prevents those same people from making stupid decisions for all of us.

The only possible solution that does both is to change the way of thinking of the people, and that’s a very difficult row to hoe indeed.

And, as I said, the way of thinking of the people is moving in the wrong direction at the moment, and the rate of movement in that direction continues to increase.

The brutal truth is that our society had immense moral capital built up thru the 60s. We have been spending that capital down ever since, and we’re nearing the bottom of the barrel.

The not-making-stupid-decisions part could be handled by choosing leaders by a different method. But then we wouldn’t be America anymore, and anyway we’re still back to the problem that there IS no known way of consistently choosing leaders who won’t make stupid decisions.

Wow, did not know about Friedman. Know about the war, so typical. Gov types sometimes come up with legitimate reasons for procedures but love to keep them in place when the need passes. THAT is the real problem.

There is alot of big talk on FR. Not just regarding highly important principles such as this, either!

To have a successful revolt requires much more coordination than exists here - mostly big talk by a few nobodies. Serious study of the AmRevWar shows how it became highly coordinated in multiple ways. And it required a healthy dose each of rationalism and blustery enthusiasm.

/I’d like to know how you intend to travel from Point A - violent resistance, to Point Z - Restoration of Freedom.

What are the intermediate events?

What will likely occur will be nothing like the RW or CW. We are currently a rapidly dying Republic. The evil left has spent the last 100 years attempting to convert our Republic into a democracy (with the end goal of a totalitarian dictatorship.) They are succeeding.

Scenario #1 follow: What will likely happen is that we will be morphed into a third world decaying Socialist sewer.

The import and offspring of the third world anti-American, anti-English illegal invasion will likely total over half our population by 2050. Demographics is destiny and the illegal invasion is truly checkmate for our Republic. They will vote for third world type tyrants. This is the most likely scenario.

Probability of scenario #1 is 51%

If somehow we could remove the vast numbers of these anti-American third world socialists then the least likely scenario (#2) would likely develop as follows. At some point a "crisis" will result in the essential financial collapse of the Federal government.

It would be ideal for the Several States to have a plan ready to quickly take over and dissolve the Federal government of all unconstitutional activities. This will require the firing of millions of Federal bureaucrats and the outright revoking of their pensions. All courts below the Supreme courts would need to be immediately dissolved.

Through an emergency convening of an Article V Convention of the States, the States can quickly remove ALL unconstitutional aspects of Federal government.

It cannot be emphasized enough that the removal of all unconstitutional parts of the Federal government would have to be done in a very short time period (< 18 months)

Probability of scenarios 2 is 0.05%

Scenario #3 is the 2nd most likely scenario (probability 49%) is a "crisis" event causing a collapse of the U.S. Economy resulting in widespread chaos, death and the attempted imposition of a totalitarian dictatorship. It will likely unfold as in the many writings of Travis McGee.

No one really knows what will happen or when (6 months, 2 years or 20 years), but when it does it will not be pleasant. Most of human existence has been one of bondage and tyrannical rule.

Our Blessed United States has been one of the few exceptions in all of human history. The utterly evil left is trying its best to extinguish our Freedom. They are that evil.

I can’t add to or refute anything you say.

What is obvious to you and me is also clear to our state politicians. In fact, they probably know far better of the heavy federal fist always poised to beat them and their people down.

The tyranny is here. Article V, the 0.05% chance, is the only hope to restore freedom.

Yes indeed Article V is our best hope.

John Adams stated, Our Constitution Was Made Only For A Moral And Religious People.

I believe for an Article V convention to succeed we need a populace such as Adams describes. I fear we may not have such a citizenry. The hoards of third-worlders have Zero connection to our history and culture. Also, we have a very large dependent class.

Hence, the low probability I regretfully assigned to a successful Article V convention.

Yes, the odds are against us.

Yet history will not look kindly on a people who gaffed off their duty and accepted tyranny.

The Assembly of State Legislatures will meet again in December. So far, their efforts have remained mostly over the horizon, unnoticed. Once it agrees to the parliamentary rules of a convention to propose amendments, I hope the movement bursts wide open across media.
