To be independent is to be free -- not to receive free stuff paid for by others but to pursue our own happiness without diminishing the abilities of others to pursue theirs. Under King Obama we have lost much of our independence.
Bill Whittle posted this video one year ago, on July 3d.
How would you answer the question at the end of the first verse of our national anthem?
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave Oer the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Our southern borders are not secure from invasion and currently the most porous of them is in Texas. Although Governor Perry invited King Obama to see, personally, what's happening there, He will not do that when He visits Texas next week. Instead, he will
ignore perform His Royal duties by attending a fund raiser and two other Democrat National Committee events.
Wesley Pruden had this to say on July 3d:
The humanitarian crisis on the southern border is the most persuasive evidence of all that America is adrift in a sea of incompetence, blown about by every ill wind that blows. The mighty ship of state is bereft of a rudder, traveling in endless circles with the captain stumbling on the bridge, trying to make sense of navigation charts he cant read. The making of King Obama
However, this may be ascribing to incompetence what is better explained by conspiracy. Mr. Obama promised in 2008 that he intended to transform America, and he is well on his way. Anyone who looked closely at the man and the influences that shaped who he would become risked being called a racist, a nativist, a bigot and a redneck yahoo. He was the messiah everyone was waiting for. [Emphasis added.]
. . . .
This week, a Texas congressman who does not have the luxury of looking the other way because he sees trouble in every direction he looks, said what the nice people think must never be said. The tsunami will change everything.
Either were going to enforce our laws and remain strong, economically or otherwise, or we ignore the rule of law and go to being a Third World country, Rep. Louie Gohmert, a Republican, told Fox News. Youve got to follow the law. You cannot bring hundreds of thousands of people in this country without destroying the country. Then theres no place that people can dream about coming.[Emphasis added.]
No one knows this better than Barack Obama. Making the United States over into a Third World country is exactly what this president is about. He is of the Third World. He spent his formative years in the Third World, and when his mother, obsessed with the Third World, brought him back to America, he sought out the company of those who dreamed of making America over into the worlds largest welfare state, a France writ large, with Velveeta instead of Camembert. He and his Chicago cohort of potheads, community organizers and dreamers of fuzzy dreams entertained themselves with fantasies of how they would one day transform the land of the free and the home of the brave into a nation worthy of taking its rightful place among the nations of the Third World. [Emphasis added.]
. . . .
Of course, once the transformation of America is complete, and theres not much difference between Indiana and El Salvador, or between San Francisco and Honduras, the invasions will cease. America will no longer be the stuff of the dreams of the huddled masses, yearning to be free. Nobody will want to come here, because it will be no better than the miserable places they would leave behind. We have seen the Obama future, and it doesnt work. [Emphasis added.]
We were once able to proclaim that "this land is my land." To whom will it belong in the not too distant future? Perhaps King Obama and His friends know.
Guilty as hell, free as a birdits a great country.
King Obama has lived up to His mentors' standards. As this Bill Whittle video suggests, we should bestow upon Him the honor He deserves by renaming Washington D.C. "Obamadelphia."
Fortunately, we are noticing our loss of freedom
Jonathan Turley, a liberal in the old-fashioned sense and not a librul, posted an article on July 3d titled Gallup Poll: Satisfaction With Their Freedoms Has Record Drop Among Americans. There, he commented that
We have long discussed the erosion of civil liberties in the United States, including the attacks on privacy and other rights by the Obama Administration. It appears that we are not alone in those concerns. A new Gallup poll shows a record drop in the satisfaction of Americans over their freedoms. The massive drop is matched in such countries as Egypt, Pakistan, and Venezuela. [Emphasis added.]
Seventy-nine percent of US residents are satisfied with their level of freedom. That is down from 91 percent in 2006 a 12 point drop. We were once the highest country in the world on such polls. We have now dropped to 36th place. [Emphasis added.]
That mirrors other studies showing the United States dropping to the same low levels on press freedoms, Internet speech, and other rights.
. . . .
The poll on the eve of the Fourth of July captures the dire condition of American civil liberties today. As I wrote years ago, Obama has been a disaster for the American civil liberties movement and the damage done under his tenure will be felt for decades. What is most distressing is that citizens see the decline but feel virtually powerless to do anything about it due to the duopoly of power in this country. Even with universal calls for change, the two parties are again recycling many of the same figures and same policies as prior years. Polls of this kind show a deep sense of dissatisfaction among Americans but also a complete lack of expression of those views through political channels. That is a dangerous situation for any political system when such widespread feelings are left unexpressed and unvented in politics. The political system seems to be operating in an increasingly unconnected and unresponsive fashion vis-a-vis the public at large. There is a sense among many that I speak to that there is a ruling elite and a vast body of the ruled a modern equivalent to the helot class of ancient Sparta. [Emphasis added.]
I have posted this Bill Whittle video before, but it's worth posting again in the present context.
King Obama also rejects freedom for people elsewhere who want it and seeks to have them "enjoy" Islamic slavery with neither Christianity nor Judaism permitted. To that end, He promotes the interests of Islamist nations while trying to bend to His will the only free and democratic nation in the Middle East. Why? Why does a scorpion sting? Because that's what it does.
Those who impose sanctions on Israel appear to agree with King Obama. Here's a humorous video about them.
The text is available here.
There is no such thing as "free stuff;" someone has to pay for it. The freedoms we once had, like those that we still have, were not free. They were paid for dearly by those who secured them for themselves, for their progeny, for us and for our progeny. We can neither regain the freedoms we have lost nor keep those freedoms we still have without making the necessary payments. They can be substantial. As we continue to fail to make those payments, penalties and interest will continue to accrue and the costs will continue to increase. Hadn't we better start making payments? Independence Day would be a good day to start.
I’d curb stomp Bill Ayers on sight all the time shouting ‘’It’s the revolution!’’
