In Milwaukee, ,a woman with a concealed carry permit shot a would be robber who had been released after being accused of shooting a man in the face during an attempted car-jacking the day before. The potentially impressive criminal career has probably ended, as the suspect is now paralyzed and in the hospital. He is 15 years old. From wisn.com:
Police said a woman the 15-year-old tried to rob near 14th and Olive streets the day after the Motley carjacking, pulled a gun on him.The Crime Prevention Research Center has found that as the number of concealed carry permits has risen, the crime rate has dropped.
Motley and his wife said the victim had a conceal carry permit and shot the teen during a struggle.
Between 2007 and the preliminary estimates for 2013, murder rates have fallen from 5.6 to 4.4 per 100,000 – a 22 percent drop in the murder rate at the same time that the percentage of the adult population with permits soared by 130 percent. Overall violent crime also fell by 22 percent over that period of time.This case may illustrate a microcosm of that trend. Most violent crimes are committed by a tiny number of violent criminals that are members of distinct, ultaviolent, urban, criminal, subcultures.
Criminals fear armed citizens as much as they fear police.
It is not hard to see how crime rates can be pushed down by more honest people carrying guns, or to put it succinctly from John Lott's book: "More Guns Less Crime".
John Lott writes that the people who benefit the most from the spread of concealed carry permits are urban minority women. Professor Brian Anse Patrick, in "Rise of the Anti-Media" notes that the percentage of women with concealed carry permits is increasing faster than the percentage of men. Stephanie Carter notes that in Texas, the fastest growing demographic of concealed handgun permit holders is black women.

"One additional woman carrying a concealed handgun reduces the murder rate for women by about 3-4 times more than one additional man carrying a concealed handgun reduces the murder rate for men."It is not hard to see why "shall issue" concealed carry permit systems have spread across the nation, and why the votes to bring about national reciprocity for concealed carry permits exist in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. Only the Senate Leadership of Harry Reid and the Presidency of Barack Obama are preventing national reciprocity for concealed carry permits, similar to national reciprocity for drivers licenses. No one knows how many lives could be saved by such a measure.

Having grown up in Milwaukeestan, I thank my Dad on a regular basis for getting us OUT of there. And that was back in 1970; a short 44 years ago!
ALL of our family has gotten out - I cannot imagine living in our old ‘hood these days. Used to be all hard-working Germans, Jews and Norskis. Cops. Firemen. Tradesmen. Brewers. Bankers. Bakers.

explain that they in reality, are agreeing that more guns equals more deterrence and less crime.

criminals don’t fear unarmed cops. they don’t fear unarmed people. they do fear getting shot, doesn’t matter by who.

My family lived one block away from 14th and Olive, as mentioned in the story, during WWII. Nobody locked their house or worried about crime. The scariest thing was the polio epidemics. Went back about 10 years ago to look at the old “hood” -—— I left in a hurry!
My brother and I installed some doors on a friend’s rental on the near-northwest of Milwaukee. We were very concerned that our tools were going to disappear if we looked away for a moment.
Another friend (electrician) was doing work in an alley in that same area. His ladder moved, and he fell to the pavement. As he lay there, he was robbed by two teens. They emptied his truck too. This was during the day...
Night time travel through this area is not advised.
My brother later got caught up in some impromptu urban street-blockage/music blast. Dozens of urbanites blocked the streets, got out of their cars, and danced to blaring music. He climbed over the curbs and boulevards with his truck and got out of there. Two block away, the city police sat in their cars. My brother told them what was happening, and they thanked him, and sent him on his way.
The Milwaukee county police are the only ones that will intervene. Sheriff Clark is The best thing Milwaukee has going for it. Great, no-nonsense guy! But one guy can’t change things by himself.

WRONG: The criminals fear an armed citizen much more than they fear the police.
They know the police want to arrest them rather than shoot them (to much paperwork after a shooting).
They know the armed citizen will just KILL THEM; empty the magazine, reload and empty the magazine again.

I saw an attempt of a carjacking in New Orleans.
I was in the drive through of a McDonalds when a young kid walked up to the car in front of me. I mean a kid, probably 12 or 13. He held up a semiauto sideways style at the driver. Now, the driver was blocked in, so I don’t know what the kids was thinking, but he still tried. Then the driver, a black female produced a large revolver out the window and cocked the hammer back. Kid ran off. The black female was a sheriff’s deputy. Had the driver shot the kid, how would the media have played that one?
