On the one hand, one of the first things you learn in a CCW class (or at least in the class I took) was that as a CCW holder you are responsible for knowing the laws in whatever states you live in or travel to. So she should have checked on the Fascist State of New Jersey's gun laws before going there (assuming this was a planned trip and not a case of missing an exit). In that sense it
is her fault that this happened.
On the other hand, the fact that New Jersey does not recognize the permits of its neighbor states is (frankly) stupid--right up there with the REST of their draconian gun laws! Just from my own experience, Kansas had reciprocity agreements with all of its neighbors even before it chose last year to honor all CCWs. That kind of "gun law" just makes sense. If you want to push for "sensible gun laws," that is the first place to start, quickly followed by national CCW reciprocity.
But are the Moms and Mayors going to do that? Of course not.

“She’ll rot in jail just so preening soccer moms can pat themselves on the back.”
This sums it up pretty good.

It makes my blood boil that this woman is in jail.
As a New Yorker, I want to remind free state Americans that when you cross the border into places like NY, NJ, CT, MA, MD, you are for all intents and purposes leaving America and entering a foreign country, where rights and common sense are rare and insane laws are many.
I would suggest organizing a boycott of NJ, until the charges are dismissed, but I honestly can’t think of a single reason an out of stater would want to visit that sinkhole anyway.

While I was never stopped by the NJ government, I made a wrong turn and ended up going across the bridge into NJ. Very frightening. Made an immediate turnaround to get back to PA.

This should fall under prosecutorial discretion. Prosecutor should refuse to prosecute, the young lady should then be given her gun and ammo back and then she should receive a state trooper escort back to the border.

I live in Eastern PA and always carry. The idea that missing a highway exit could make you a criminal is the most insidious thing to come out of legislators I ever heard of.
These laws are not only Unconstitutional, but immoral when honest people like this woman go to jail for simply defending their lives.
And if you are going to have the laws, enforce the F&^%ING things. David Gregory got off scot free yet this poor woman will rot.
Hope the people who write and enforce these laws rot in hell.

Follow the money.
It’s all about the money. And statistics.
Taking her off of the streets brings their firearms enforcement numbers up -regardless if she was a danger to anyone whatsoever or not.

About thirty years ago a reenactor had his Civil War Cannon on a trailer and was passing through NJ heading South to a reenactment when the NJ police arrested him and his crew and put them in jail for having an illegal weapon. The newsletter for reenactors ran ads warning reenactors traveling to avoid NJ at all costs because the NJ police didn't distinguish between antique and modern weapons.

Boycott ALL blue states...there is a reason why you rarely see cars with southern plates in the northeast.
