Republican Party goes round the bend
CNN Opinion page ^ | July 17, 2014 | Sally Kohn, progressive activist, columnist and television commentator

Posted on 07/20/2014 2:25:49 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

In the beginning, one might have considered it bold -- even inventive -- to oppose every single thing President Obama supported.

But it quickly became tiresome and predictable over the last five years. And now, as House Republicans weigh a resolution to sue President Obama for not quickly enough implementing a law the same Republicans voted more than 50 times to repeal or stall, all hell has broken loose.

Republicans are just being obnoxious now. And dangerous. And nuts.

On Wednesday, the House Rules Committee will debate a draft resolution to file a lawsuit against President Obama, wasting taxpayer dollars in what is plainly a political stunt.

Their complaint? That President Obama did not implement the employer mandate in Obamacare quickly enough. That's right, that same employer mandate Republicans have berated Obama for, the one in the health care reform law they've voted 54 (failed) times to try to repeal or delay or stall -- the law, incidentally, that's working -- House Republicans are now using taxpayer money to sue President Obama for not implementing it quickly enough. Yeah.

Meanwhile, at least Republicans aren't going full-political-stunt and impeaching President Obama ... yet. Sarah Palin has thrown her constitutional-scholar-like support behind the idea. Though as Attorney General Eric Holder said of Palin this weekend: "She wasn't a particularly good vice presidential candidate. She's an even worse judge of who ought to be impeached and why."(continued)

Unlike Sally Kohn and Eric Holder, Sarah Palin has actually submitted herself to the will of the people and been voted into office almost a half a dozen times. You learn governing and the constitution best hands-on, wouldn't you say?

Defeating every aspect of Obama's extreme left-wing anti-American agenda remains critical to any change our nation has of surviving and recovering its former strength, status and freedom.

Sally Kohn is another progressive retard that creates a false narrative about what is actually happening and then proceeds to argue her point with straw man after straw man.

Sally - it is the Democratic party that has gone over the cliff (not the bend). As far as you are concerned, after seeing and hearing you on Fox News for a few years, I quickly learned to change the channel whenever you appeared. You are a far left-wing nutcase.

It does seem stupid for Boehner to sue Obama for delaying the employer mandate. If he wins the suit will that cause the mandate to go into effect?

The point isn’t what the GOP House does or does not do. The point is the constitution must be followed. Obama can give speeches. He can call the House “Do-nothing loser.” He can put political pressure on them. What he can not do is enact or change laws without their consent. Period!!

If the public does not like what the House is doing, they will vote the House members out of office. That’s how it works.

Now, as far as the House suing Obama for delaying the employer mandate goes. The real issue is the neither the House, the Senate, nor the President can do anything alone. Everything must be done together (again....how our system works) or nothing gets done.

The GOP House tried to delay the employer mandate via legislation. Obama called them arsonist and the Government shut-down. He then delayed the employer mandate on his own...illegally. It is impossible to know what is going through Obama’s head, but he can’t just do this. For some reason, he feels threatened if he shares in the delay, but empowered if he does it by himself?

The GOP house is not the problem. Obama does not know how to work with congress. His ego won’t let him do it and his personality isn’t right for that kind of cooperation anyway. Obama is the problem!! When he leaves office, assuming we get a semi-competent President in his place, normal order will once again begin....regardless of which party holds the presidency.

"... Obama did not implement the employer mandate in Obamacare quickly enough."

Many people want Obama and Democrats out of office. And the best way to get Obama and Democrats out of office is for low-information voters who work for a living to get kicked in the teeth with the full brunt of the constitutionally indefensible Obamacare Democratcare tax tsunami.

The problem is that, in stark contrast to former Speaker Pelosi irresponsibly ramming Democratcare through the HoR because the sky was falling, Obama keeps on pushing the full force introduction of Democratcare back so that voters don't get angry and kick Democrats out of office.

H O W E V E R ...

Since the last thing that RINOs want to do is to start clueing low-information voters in on Congress's constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, public healthcare not one of those powers, RINOs are trying to do the next best thing to save their memberships in their congressional "country club." And the next best thing is to force Obama to “drown” voters in the Democratcare tsunami so that angry voters will kick Democrats out of office.

As a side note concerning the federal government's constitutionally limited powers, please consider the following. The states would sure be a dull, boring place to grow up and live in if parents were to make sure that their children were taught about the federal government's constitutionally limited powers as the Founding States had intended for those powers to be understood. /sarc

Thomas Jefferson had put it this way:

“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)

In fact, forget about traditional salesman / sucker cliches like "buying the Brooklyn Bridge." Voters now have to deal with the problem that they have foolishly exchanged their votes for constitutionally nonexistent rights and federal spending programs based on constitutionally nonexistant federal government powers.

Wow! And here I thought Republicans were just doing their job, albeit with limp-wristed effectiveness, hardly well enough to counter all the Obama butt sniffers of the media and loony left, like the expression challenged fruitcake who wrote this piddly shrill.

This is the same leftist crap I’ve been hearing for fifty years. Republicans object to some Dem-sponsored bill as incurring too much spending, for example on some aid program to help “poor” people, and Dems scream that Republicans want to STARVE!!!! or KILL!!! poor people. It never ends. For commies like Kohn, it’s never enough money spent.

“Their complaint? That President Obama did not implement the employer mandate in Obamacare quickly enough”

False. The complaint is that Obama ILLEGALLY delayed elements of the law.

“That’s right, that same employer mandate Republicans have berated Obama for, the one in the health care reform law they’ve voted 54 (failed) times to try to repeal or delay or stall”

Which we were trying to do LEGALLY.

“— the law, incidentally, that’s working —”

Liar.
