Why Sarah Palin TV makes perfect sense ("Oprahesque")

Although it took six years for her to do it, former mayor of Wasilla/Alaska governor/GOP vice presidential nominee, and current author/Fox analyst/Tea Party favorite/social media pioneer/reality TV star and all around muckraker Sarah Palin has finally landed on her most perfect title: founder, The Sarah Palin Channel.

Looking back, shouldn’t we have seen this Oprahesque turn coming all along?

Palin, a communications major, always made for great TV. Even when she stumbled her way through those Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson interviews in 2008, it was cringe-worthy, but hard to turn away.

Well, maybe, she hasn’t always made for great TV.

Here she is way back in 1988 as sports anchor for KTUU-TV, talking hoops, hockey and of course, the Iditarod. She was Sarah Heath back then, and very much on-script, until the very end of her appearance, when an anchor tells her “Don’t go overboard, Sarah.”(continued)

She has two very high-level TV executives putting this together for her. It’s going to be HUGE after a shake-out cruise period. I’ve been saying for years that she could be the conservative Oprah.

Her followers are crazy about her.

The woman brings A BUILT-IN AUDIENCE.

At just the point when Oprah’s star is descending, Sarah’s is shooting skyward like a homesick angel.

And here is the sick but undeniable part —the worse things get the more people will be reaching out for her, even the unconverted.

Her channel is a slam-dunk.

This is perfect for Sarah.

It would be great if she hosted a talk show during the day like Oprah but in this case showing women a conservative way of life, and uniting Americans. This would be huge.

For a hit piece designed to make Palin look bad, the video of her from 1988 where she is the sportscaster (I never knew she did this at all) she seems more natural at that than the goofy Chip Carter in Tampa Bay and he's been doing it for 20-30 years now. I never have been a fan of the anchors that try to give the sportscasters little jabs after their banter like that douchbag anchor had to do, even back in 1988. If anything, this makes Sarah even more likeable as that comes across that she would be the perfect woman able to watch sports with the guys. I'm impressed.

As to Megan McCain, she seems jealous of a woman that is 20-30 years older than her and she is also jealous people like Sarah Palin while they could care less about McCain. I'm betting the pudgie fat liberal that McCain is, still tries to use the "youth" angle to make herself relevant like she did in 2008 saying she is the voice of the new generation and I think that alienated people from ever giving a rat's a$$ about what she said. She is on a tv program with the illiterate metta world peace and what appears to be a token gay guy. Real success there. Her 15 minutes of fame came and went and now she is bitter about Palin even more. The keep it in your pants remark was total jealousy...

I think Sarah Palin is the gutsyous person in America, and it’s my hope that her new ‘channel” will take down the cruddy “establishment” politicians we see in Washington today..
