Lake Superior, the Great Lakes and Europe Defy Climate Experts
Canada Free Press ^ | 07/31/14 | Jack Dini

A little over one year ago, The New York Times and USA Today were reporting that the Great Lakes hit all time lows in water levels. According to those reports, Lake Huron and Lake Michigan were 29 inches below their average measurements taken since 1918. Scientists warned communities that they could only expect more tragedy with the Great Lakes. With a lack of rain from climate change, they told everyone to expect levels to continue to drop.

Climate experts my butt. Many great lakes area FReepers were saying the lake levels would rise considerably at least a year ago. A very wet summer followed by extensive ice that prevented evaporation followed by another wet summer means rising lake levels. Its not at all complicated.

And here I thought the rising Great Lakes water levels resulted from the poor people of Detroit not being able to pay their water bills.

Due to climate change lake levels are expected to rise, or fall or stay the same.

It’s only complicated if you’re trying to sell a climate theory that is scientifically false.

Reminds me of George Carlin's hippy-dippy weatherman routines from way back. He had much more credibility than the AGW alarmists. "tonight's forecast DARK. Continued mostly dark until the early morning, followed by partial sunshine.." I know about Carlin's atheism and potty-mouth humor, but he was absolutely right when it came to the planet STRONG LANGUAGE WARNING!

I've lived in Lake Erie country most of my life. Every high school kid knows the Great Lakes rise and fall regularly over time. A shame the "experts" didn't ask their local weatherman.

From the article:

“Chinese researchers blamed Europe’s extreme cold winters as partly a consequence of global warming. (7) So now that the winters have reversed, can we still blame global warming?”

Warm globally, cool locally! LOL!

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

Due to surgery I have not been up to my place near Cadillac this year but I have a weather app that allows me to track everything up there. There was, and still is, a lot of rain going on there.

Reminds me of a story told me by friends there when I was in Cadillac a few years ago. Seems the lake freezes pretty good in winter, and some house movers were taking a house across the frozen lake. The ice gave way and the house fell through!

Sounds like something they would try to do up there. Since I was a child (I am in my early 50s) I have seen some stupid things attempted, the old "Hold my beer" moments.

I know stupidity is everywhere but I swear I've seen more there than anywhere else I have traveled or lived.

Roof leaking? No problem...cover the roof with blue tarps...held in place by bundles of new shingles. Then forget about it until it starts leaking again, then buy new tarps.

After all...it’s either hunting or fishing season. Typical jackpine savage thinking.
