I was watching Obama's medicine show the other day - the jive, gesturing and smirk.
As usual he was surrounded by an obliging audience planted behind him to smile, laugh and cheer for the cameras.
Again he goaded Congress, the GOP, the "haters" - saying he'd have to do his job because they wouldn't.
His medicine show is flat, forced and fake.
The American people know it.
The world knows it.
Is it possible that the Congress sees it too?
Congress has been a staunch supporter of the show, whether in front or behind the scenes, from both RINOs and his own party. Whenever Obama takes a hit therefore, so does Congress whether they like it or not and no matter what the opinion polls purport to say. So the power-mongers have to choose between staying in power (by whatever means they employ, legal or not) or actually saving the country.
It is hard to say. The pubbies still look like they have no stones.

"Senate Republicans blocked a $2.7 billion border spending bill Thursday in a 50-44 vote.
The Senate voted against waiving a budget point of order on the measure, which would have provided funding for authorities to handle a wave of child immigrants crossing the border.
Sens. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) voted against the bill. Every Republican voted against proceeding. Landrieu faces a tough reelection in November.
Democrats decried Republicans for not allowing the bill to pass, while Republicans slammed Democrats for not allowing them to offer amendments.
“We’re no longer the greatest deliberative body, we’re the greatest delaying body in the world,” Senate Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) said. “We’re facing a really serious problem in our country. … Certainly we can deal with 60,000 children.”
“I say shame on you for failing to let senators from the states most affected to offer amendments,” Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said ahead of the vote. “Not a single one.”
The House may still approve legislation on Friday responding to the border, but Congress is not going to send legislation to President Obama's desk despite his request for a $3.7 billion bill.
The Senate border bill included $615 million in emergency funding to combat wildfires in the west and $225 million for Israel’s Iron Dome rocket defense system, bringing the total cost of the legislation to more than $3.57 billion.
Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) then tried to pass emergency funding bills just for wildfires and the Iron Dome through unanimous consent, but Republicans still objected.
Republicans wanted to offer immigration reform amendments to the bill, including amending a 2008 human trafficking law to make it easier to deport Central American children crossing the border."
What House Republican leaders refused to do is stop the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (‘DACA’) executive action that President Obama took in 2012. In fact, they wanted to first fund the man they’re suing, then give House conservatives a vote Harry Reid could quickly dispatch.
But then that was the face all along. No matter what House Republicans did, Harry Reid was going to toss it. So instead of doing the right and publicly popular thing by shutting down DACA, the House GOP was going to give Barack Obama a pile of cash with no obligation or steps to secure the border. Then they’d watch Harry Reid stop that action too.
How stupid can these people be? If the President’s polling is at 65% unfavorable on the border situation and the Democrats have no intention of doing anything about, it should be an easy vote for the House GOP to show they’re the ones who took the steps to stop the mass migration across the border.
Instead, on Eric Cantor’s last day as leader, the whole of the leadership bollixed it up and embarrassed themselves. Harry Reid then concluded the business of the Senate.
The House has stayed and has one more opportunity to get this right. Conservatives concerned about the spending were willing to set those concerns aside if the House leaders would shut down DACA. Today, the House can get it right, shut down DACA, show they are serious, and let the public turn toward the Senate where the “closed” sign is lit up.
But let’s not forget the punchline to this. House Republican Leaders want to give more than $600 million to the same man they just voted for sue for the way he’s doing and not doing his job."

The Dems long ago (long ago meaning inside 0bama’s 2 terms) were given the script: They are either on or under the bus. They know what side of the bread is buttered for them. They are probably given elaborate talking points, whether specific or formulaic, to yak from. Until recently, the Reps reluctantly went along with it, knowing that the worst that could happen was that they would be 2nd party in power. Now it appears that the Reps are gaining confidence that the people, enough of them, are becoming increasingly intolerant of 0bamas’ shenanigans (hey I can hope, can’t I?)
So who knows. The Reps are right to preserve their chances at taking the Senate. Whether an outright impeachment effort would foil those chances, I suspect so but not for sure.
The Reps cannot seem to deliver a simple message: These illegals coming in are being sent in most cases to states where photo ID is not required. They need to make this connection that these illegals, while we may want to care for them and admit them, and thus probably should be given all kinds of rights-—these rights are coming out of the hides of genuine citizens. Maybe that message could penetrate the Rep buzz machine...if there IS such a machine. I tend to doubt it.
I was reminded of a time about 10 years ago, when someone started a new off season “pro” football league, called the “XFL”. It didn’t last but a season or two, and I don’t know where the players came from, but one guy wore a jersey with the name on the back that said “HE HATE ME”.
That is the joke this president is now. Wish I could find a picture of it.
But the MSM buys it, distributes it, markets it, and promotes it at every opportunity so the majority of American people “don’t know it”.
That’s a requirement for collaborators.

I sure wish I could agree with your assessment. However, in my world, small as it may be, I talk to a lot of people many of whom are professionals or so-called educated people. It amazes me when I ask them what they think about Lois Lerner, Eric Holder, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, the immigration problem, etc.....they have no idea what I’m talking about. Depressing.

I get what you’re saying - and I agree.
They may not know the names but they KNOW things are falling apart.
This is why Obama is doing his road show - talking about how people are hating on him.
He’s trying to defect what HE (and his party) KNOW.
What we KNOW.
Now the opposition needs to GRAB hold of this and RUN to 2014 and 2016.
Eric Cantor’s leadership farewell (and call for special election) yesterday (at the same time the phones melted down) emphasized it.
