If the worst Ebola outbreak in recorded history reaches the United States, federal law permits "the apprehension and examination of any individual reasonably believed to be infected with a communicable disease". These individuals can be "detained for such time and in such manner as may be reasonably necessary". In other words, the federal government already has the authority to round people up against their will, take them to detention facilities and hold them there for as long as they feel it is "reasonably necessary". In addition, as you will read about below, the federal government has the authority "to separate and restrict the movement of well persons who may have been exposed to a communicable disease to see if they become ill". If you want to look at these laws in the broadest sense, they pretty much give the federal government the power to do almost anything that they want with us in the event of a major pandemic. Of course such a scenario probably would not be called "martial law", but it would probably feel a lot like it.
If Ebola comes to America and starts spreading, one of the first things that would happen would be for the CDC to issue "a federal isolation or quarantine order". The following is what the CDC website says about what could happen under such an order...
Isolation and quarantine are public health practices used to stop or limit the spread of disease.
Isolation is used to separate ill persons who have a communicable disease from those who are healthy. Isolation restricts the movement of ill persons to help stop the spread of certain diseases. For example, hospitals use isolation for patients with infectious tuberculosis.

And yes, if it's a plot by those in power, it isn't well thought out. Like most government actions.
They (governments in general) don't have a great win/loss record on anything but killing people.

The Wife and I were wondering what Homeland Security would do when asked to risk their lives in this way. We both thought they would leave this one to the states.
They try to keep ramming the idea down our throats that you can ONLY get it from direct contact with bodily fluids.

This is BS. You can easily get it from airborne virii if, for example, a carrier coughs or sneezes.
I believe that there was something in the 0-care law that allowed the president to create some type of health care army.
If the Ebola virus really does pose a threat, the elitists win by killing off their opposition. The masters of the universe will be secure in their hermetically sealed fortresses.
If this is all hype, the elitists win by creating pandemonium and hysteria which will make medical martial law an acceptable course of action to the general public.

If you can only get it if you come into direct contact with body fluids, then why do medical personnel have to use the full hazmat suits when treating patients?
Folks are acting as if this has never happened before. Quarantine notices were ROUTINE during outbreaks of whooping cough, small pox, polio, TB, and other contagious disease.
US history is fully of instances where this has been done. Frankly it is the RIGHT thing to do when the disease is untreatable and contagious and deadly

What exactly is "not symptomatic"? We keep hearing the infected aren't contagious until they show signs. They make it sound as if you could have sex with them and share a strawberry sundae up to the very second he spews the cherry out onto your nose. Who's really buying that?
