The unbearable sadness of climate activism:
Nicole Thornton remembers the exact moment her curious case of depression became too real to ignore. It was five years ago and the environmental scientist a trained biologist and ecologist was writing a rather dry PhD on responsible household water use.
Fair enough. That would make anyone depressed.
Thornton had always been easily upset by apathy towards, and denial of, environmental issues. But now she began to notice an oddly powerful personal reaction to "the small stuff" like people littering, or neighbours chopping down an old tree.
So, she's a bossy type who wants others to obey her. No wonder Nicole is attracted to environmentalism.
The United Nations was about to hold its 2009 climate change conference in Copenhagen, and Thornton felt she had a personal investment in it. She, like many thousands of activists and scientists and green campaigners, had high hopes that a new and robust version of the Kyoto agreement would be created in Denmark.
“But the reality was a massive, epic failure of political will. It broke me,” she says. “The trigger point was actually watching grown men cry.”
I don’t mean to diminish anyone’s pain or suffering, but it is impossible to read those two paragraphs without laughing.

Nicole Thornton is planning to create an online support network for people suffering what she calls "climate depression".
Liberalism leads to all kinds of mental issues.
The climate scam is nothing more than a way for outsiders to control and dictate if they feel a country is moving to fast economically far surpassing the third world...namely the United States, and also having the power to siphon tax payer money into thier scam to fill thier pockets. Anyone screaming at China where they have to used face masks during the olympics for all the word to see?
“This woman is an example of Relevance Deprivation Syndrome, complicated by Real World Associative Dissonance Hypertrophy.
It means you couldnt care less about real stuff but get upset about carefully chosen fashionable, possibly remunerative situations.”
What other forms of science come with their own mental illness?
She gets upset when someone cuts down an old tree? Does she know that trees grow back?
It must not be science then..
Another environ-MENTAL activist that doesn’t know the first thing about nature.
Notice the subtle push to become responsible for her feelings? we must give up our property rights so people like Nicole can be happy again.
I say before I give up my liberty, Nicole needs to see s shrink.
“Liberalism leads to all kinds of mental issues.’
More like mental illness leads to all kinds of liberalism.
It’s a cycle. Liberalism feeds mental illness, which feeds liberalism. That is why the fight against it is so difficult.
>> I dont mean to diminish anyones pain or suffering,
You’re a better man than I, Tim. I’m kind of getting my kicks watching her suffer.
Strange - I have the same type of reaction every time I hear, see, or think about Obama... and what he’s doing to this once great nation.
Took the post right out of my hands.
Worth reading the whole article for a few laughs.
Environmentalism is the religion of the left.
OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the suns planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?
American liberalism itself is a marker for mental illness.
Thumbs up, numerous laughs.
